They are. However, there is still a significant amount of folk I know, most of whom I would consider intelligent, successful and on the whole reasonable in their life views who when the subject of climate change is being discussed are pretty much in denial. Conspiracy theories abound from government/elite scaremongering, green energy companies making billions at our expense, even the big military aircraft spraying chemicals trails over the east of England to alter the weather patterns to suit some agenda.
This concerns me quite a bit as the evidence is there and all rationally goes out the window when the weather we’re experiencing in recent years is talked about. Guess I’ll just have to keep plugging away at them.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Don't worry, some will continue to ignore any and everything those that know better than us tell us. Just like fake moon landings, fake viruses, vaccine that are apparently more likely to kill than prevent etc. You name it, there are probably still a few who continue to believe the earth is flat.

See the alternating warm and cold patches in the Northern mid-latitudes? That's the imprint of a quasi-stationary Rossby wave (i.e. oscillations in the jet stream). It's rare to see it so clearly in a monthly-average temperature map.

To be fair global warming was really bad in 1976, my ford escort failed because of the heat. The mechanic even told me the fault was caused by global warming.

Also not forgetting 1959 was another bad year for global warming, I remember sweating my nuts off a few times that summer.

Most have grown up kids, grandparents in some instances.
Guess I can’t be too sanctimonious having encouraged my own son to travel extensively years ago which he embraced and continues to do so.
We can only hope that the human race drastically changes its habits. I’m not entirely sure that it will though. The natural world is a resilient beast and will adapt accordingly. Humankind not so.
