Trying to get it to 25 is a tough ask - makes me think we should've kept Henry Gray as 3rd choice keeper as an U21
GK - Scherpen, Walton, van Oevelen/Button/Palmer
RB - NEW, Furlong
CB - O'Shea, Kipre
CB - Diop, Greaves
LB - Davis, NEW versatile LB/LCB
CM - Florentino, Matusiwa
CM - NEW, Nunez
RW - Fatawu, Burns, [Walle Egeli]
10 - Enciso, Mehmeti
LW - Maeda, Clarke
ST - Emersonn, NEW
2 extra players then come from:
- Taylor for an extra CM or a NEW signing,
- Jaden if he stays
- 3rd striker [Akpom/Hirst/NEW signing],
- Ben Johnson as a utility option?
And I think we'll sign more players than I've noted here as the window comes to a close.
But if we can get Florentino and Enciso in, think Florentino over the line already tbf, and another CM and a Striker we'll be in a good position to start the season with a couple more to follow |  |

Based on Mehmeti, Walton / Palmer, Philogene,
Mcateer and Akpom or Hirst going.
Then looking at the front 4 and where our goals will come from, I noted Maeda, based on last seasons stats, scored the most (based on our current players and players linked) and it made me think that we need another striker to lead the line who has better returns than Emerson. Is the plan to put Maeda in 10, Ueda up top and then leads way for another LW marquee signing (like linked with Laurienté!?!).
I think the next week or so is going to be one of madness transfer weeks we’ve seen. [Post edited 4 Aug 15:04]

This is pretty much where I am - potentially with the LW being a versatile CAM who can play across the line - and potentially up front too. Wouldn't surprise me if that one is a deadline day deal with Mehmeti going out.
I also wonder, if we get Enisco, whether we might go into the season with just two "recognised" strikers - Emersonn and one other, with Maeda, Enisco, Walle Egeli providing cover. |  | | |

You can't have your 3rd keeper as unregistered, because means that if you have a late injury you are one short as they are on the bench - maybe Woody Williamson is seen as 3rd keeper, but if he is then he will be the 3rd one in a travelling party and not Button | |

Fell that's pretty unfair on Diop and O'Shea. The top of the Championship CBs were Bobby Thomas and Pitching. O'Shea, Diop and Greaves are levels above that. | | | |

I imagine it will be Button, unless we reach the end of the window with both Walton and Palmer, in which case it'll be those two and Scherpen.
Only players registered can play, and after having to use 3 GK's across the Prem season last time around, I can't imagine that 3rd spot being reserved for an under-21 keeper. |  | | |

Was mentioned that Button is staying on for training / coaching but won't be registered, and a Championship loan is the target for van Oevelen, so you'd think either Walton or Palmer will be moving on as neither will be happy as our 3rd keeper.
I think the 2 key signings remaining are another No.9 and another DCM even after signing Florentino Luis (maybe one who can also cover at CB) Beyond that we're heading into territory where we're upgrading current players who could potentially "do a job" for us |  |

I don't think Emersonn starts, based on what they have said and the rumours about different strikers. I wasn't really thinking of Nunez for a back up CM, I still have them as back up for the 10, but you could be correct there.
I think Hirst is off, and Akpom is the 3rd striker. I don't see us picking up 2 more strikers. I think it would be a poor use of funds. We are probably waiting until our striker gets down the line before Hirst goes.
We definitely need 1 starting striker and CM, in addition to Florentino and Enciso for us to be competitive. We don't have a left back for Life, we need one.
I would really like to see a stronger RB, but that may be a choice. |  |

Someone I know who watches a fair bit of Dutch football is adamant Van Oeuvelen could establish himself as No.1 here quite quickly. Rates him more highly than Scherpen. [Post edited 4 Aug 16:07]

Could we risk Woody Williamson as the 3rd keeper, until Walton is back from injury by end of September? We'd register Walton as part of the 25. That would leave Kayne V.O. available for loan? Williamson wouldn't count in the 25 as per Sindre. | |

Too much of a risk, I would guess. I assume we'll go with the two Dutchmen and Walton with Palmer moving on, assuming Walton isn't out for longer than anticipated or is fit soon enough that Van Oevelen can go out on loan, again assuming a club can be found for him late in the window. | | | |
