| If the fee is GBP30M for Enciso 13:59 - Aug 12 with 3588 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | I think that is really decent in today’s market, as crazy as it sounds, with his ceiling and age that has huge potential to be doubled if we stay up and he performs. His name and profile is already out there globally. It was agreed 20M from Brighton to BlueCo but he had a knee issue so went down to 9M up front and then some add ons. He's had a very good year since he left us and was one of the most creative players in the World Cup. [Post edited 12 Aug 14:00]

| If the fee is GBP30M for Enciso on 14:05 - Aug 12 with 2700 views | Zx1988 | If Strasbourg's fee to Brighton was heavily reduced and caveated owing to concerns regarding his knee, I'd hope that we're similarly protecting our position. | |

| If the fee is GBP30M for Enciso on 14:05 - Aug 12 with 2699 views | burnbudgiesburn | I feel much calmer spending big on younger players than the rumoured £30m for the soon to be 28 yrs old Palacios whose value can only decrease. | | | |
| If the fee is GBP30M for Enciso on 14:05 - Aug 12 with 2691 views | Nutkins_Return | I don't think we will pay that honestly though there will likely be some additional add ons that might take it up to that mark. I reckon it will be £20-24m range +£3-4mil add ons. | |

Let's be honest though, we are going to be the ant in the food chain if we want to do this deal. I bet you anything there will be a buy back clause in there granting Chelsea first refusal. I'm sure we will do due diligence on the medical, we turned down Broja.
| If the fee is GBP30M for Enciso on 14:09 - Aug 12 with 2608 views | blueoutlook | Way too much if we pay 30 million. 20 maybe otherwise look elsewhere,he isn’t worth 30. | | | |
| If the fee is GBP30M for Enciso on 14:11 - Aug 12 with 2558 views | Clutch | He’s only 22, played near to 200 games with near to 50 goals. 30 million is pretty good value in this market! People think Philogene is worth that much and he’s not performed great at the top level. | | | |

Brighton paid 9M for him as a teenager the deal was 20M with BlueCo but negotiated down after a medical, was still work up to 17M. He wasn’t exactly average in France not sure what’s giving you that idea? Quite frankly if Hirst is going for 10M range this deal could be worth a lot more. [Post edited 12 Aug 14:13]

| If the fee is GBP30M for Enciso on 14:14 - Aug 12 with 2513 views | Guthrum | That's the kind of fee I thought we'd be spending on our top hires this summer. I'd say Enciso would qualify as one of those. | |

Exactly. If we get Julio for similar numbers to Emersonn we'll have done well - the market has definitely jumped up a bit this season (hence Hirst for £10m rumours.) I honestly don't see any takers for Jaden at £30m+ for the reasons you state, we might have to settle for breaking even on that one.

Pinging worldies in the PL as a teenager, scorer and creater, multiple international tournaments under his belt and clearly been seen as having a lot of potential by some very big clubs.

Quite. He’s really good, and £30m would seem an entirely acceptable fee for him. Just as fees to clubs at the top of the championship (Hirst, Broadhead etc etc) take a while to get used to, so do these kind of fees.

I bloody love Omari but I think Enciso is a better player and more of a match winner. Looks like he is going to be our record signing. Anything under £30m is a great deal IMO. If anyone is worried about this one at 30M they must have thrown up at the Emersonn signing.

Giving his career so far can you tell me how on earth it’s high? Clubs pay that on potential alone these days.

12 goals and 9 assists in 32 starts for the season is pretty reasonable isn't it?

That’s fine but they’re not irrelevant for the rules and our budget of players and wages, we couldn’t spend $40-50M on him for example that would have cost us signing another player. So of course they’re relevant.

Generally agree, but I think we got an incredible deal on Omari. And I rated him highly.

He cost £8.5m, originally it was going to be £17m but the medical identified knee issues following his meniscus injury. Brighton just wanted him out so took a 50% drop for a bigger sell on clause.

12 goals in 40+ games in a league where anyone outside the top 4 is very average. All depends if we are playing him as a 9 or not. If we are, 12 goals is not a great return. If he's replacing Jaden and his goals come from a wider position, then 12 goals is obviously decent. If he hadn't cost £9m less than a year ago, I wouldn't be questioning the £30m. Especially as the £17m (upto) won't have been triggered very much?

But he's costing max £30m over the 5 year deal I would assume equates to £6m a year HEADROOM !
