So this was highlighted to me today. A new poster on the Coventry forum, pretending to be me with my username and sign-off. It's not a one-off post, it's a number of interactions in the same style attempting to stir them up and cause trouble.
Think most of us can guess which element of the forum this is from. Extremely weird and rather concerning.

Thing is people take this "light-hearted micky taking" too far. I don't think there's a post that Stokie starts without somebody jumping in and taking a pop without adding anything to the conversation, then there was the officer dibble stuff, people changing their avatar to add to the wind ups and now this. There are some proper, proper weirdos on here, much more so than pretending to be someone else (albeit a made up/fictitious name) on another forum.
I experienced it years ago when someone wrote a letter to my work place trying to get me sacked!

I’ve had it a lot and very recently Ive had a certain poster a member of the LAS use my Avatar.
I’ve had another from the LAS use the name ‘Village Green ‘ and their avatar was a cricket match on Benters Green.
Very recently and thanks to GB for pointing it out when I changed my name to Sampamsdisco many moons ago,someone during the World Cup popped up and started using that name,and was swiftly banned by admin.
It not nice and as much as we dislike each other it’s not good to have someone do that to you. [Post edited 19 Aug 4:43]

More weird behaviour, someone else has pointed out to me that Sitters has started signing off his X posts that mention the forum with SB yesterday.
Doesn't look like he's done it before and it's only specifically on posts that mention the forum so saying it's initials clearly doesn't fly or it would be every post.
Just getting weird now.

It's got ridiculous when people cannot simply acknowledge that something is unacceptable just because it's happened to someone they don't get on with.

Spats on here, whoever they're instigated by, are one thing & of course bullying's always unacceptable; but misrepresentation/impersonation elsewhere is a whole different kettle of fish & really quite serious, however 'light-hearted' the poster's intentions might have been to start with. |  |
