Mick Mills says Scherpen should have reached the first. Said second wasn't hit hard and again saveable. I think the Liv 1st near post hand-height was an easier save than either of the ones today, but I think most Prem keepers save at least one of those. Let's say we're up to four now:
1. Utd 5th: off his line, didn't get there, lobbed.
2. Liv 1st: near post hand-height. Through his hands.
3. Liv 2nd: Off his line, no-mans-land.
4. One or other of the two goals today was reachable
Warnings signs were also there vs Rayo Vallecano pre-season too. We've conceded second most in Prem and nearly half those goals are GK errors. I think GK position has gone backwards since last season. [Post edited 12 Sep 17:27]

No, I'm not trawling through the Internet for clips of a goalkeeper making saves. Just my opinion, I don't think he's an upgrade. I don't think this is a discussion that warrants endless requests for proof. |  | | |

Hes also caught and punched some incredibly dangerous crosses and set pieces that our other keepers wouldnt get near. |  |

There you go again. Off the top of my head, he made a sharp save against Sunderland at 0-0 (I think). Then against Manure, a fantastic save after about 12 minutes to prevent them from taking the lead plus 2 or 3 more big saves in the second half when they were cutting through us. Against Liverpool, a couple of decent stops that prevented them from a bigger lead. I'm sure there were more.
Go on then, what are the 4 goals that he let in that he should be saving? On second thoughts, don't bother, I don't think you and I will ever agree.
His kicking can and will improve. Although again, to say he's incapable of keeping ANY goal kick on the pitch is unnecessary hyperbole. You really need to read what you have typed before pressing the Reply button. Cut out the unnecessary exaggeration and insults towards our player, and you never know, someone might try to engage with you constructively. | | | |

If they are regulation saves, it shouldn't take any trawling through at all. Just pick a couple from the extended highlights from some matches this weekend.
My point is that if you find any they will be remarkable saves that will be drawing praise. That shows they really aren't regulation. In the match on right now, Verbruggen saved one that was mishit towards the corner and the commentators said it was a great save. That was far easier than either that Scherpen conceded yesterday. |  |
