Line of duty and Game of Thrones quite simply have to be in any list.
The latter is genuine genius |
Both shows amazing at their peak but tail off really badly. Line of Duty last season was a whole load of nothing (shocked its coming back) and Game of Thrones, well less said the better. Both probably fell off my list because of it. | |

On the Tinker, Tailor front - the 2011 film was one of those rare occasions where a remake (albeit in film format) was not a crushing disappointment - in fact was really, really good too.
I didn't think anyone could play Smiley after Sir Alec, but Gary Oldman gave a brilliant, similar, but subtly different portrayal which had me absolutely transfixed in much the same way. Also liked Tom Hardy's Ricki Tarr, and Cummerbund's Guillam, and even Colin Firth's Haydon, whilst not a superbly sinister portrayal like Ian Richardson's, was detachedly excellent.
Both would be in my top 3 TV and film lists. | |
