Except they didn't really let slip the landing site, more speculated on where it would take place and came to the same logical conclusion as the military had. Which the Argentines could have worked out for themselves, but didn't.
It was Goose Green where they reported on the impending attack before it had been launched (which information must have been given to them and not emphasised as secure). |  |

Historically the BBC has always been full of left wing people. But it didn't really matter before Brexit in that nobody really complained.
As soon as the landscape shifted after Brexit and people became 'radicalised' on either side, for want of a better word, they were put in the firing line and they responded by making some senior appointments of right-leaning people.
This then made them quite a hybrid organisation. For example in news you'd have Kuenssberg and Maitlis with quite polar opposite approaches. Since then some of the more left-leaning journalists have departed e.g. The News Agents, so I would say it is probably still left-leaning, but more to the right than it has ever been. the bbc news tries incredibly hard to be impartial, and in the vast majority of times it achieves it. bbc news still stands out amongst news organisations for objectivity.
away from news, across its broader output it has the problem that it's staff are very unrepresentative of the wider population. and on non-news coverage of social issues it really struggles to remain balanced. i think it's now trying harder though (i say this as an obsessive listener to radio 4). Genuinely find it hilarious/depressing when people accuse the BBC of being left wing. This is the same station that has made Farage one of the most frequent guests on question time, gave equal time to the remain/leave debate on Europe despite the economists unanimously saying the leaving would be a disaster, and recently had a chairperson that was a major Tory donor

Not even its political coverage was staffed by those who were left wing “traditionally” as you put it. Just in terms of blokes named Andrew you had the wide range of Neil and Marr.
Boris and his usurpers stuff it full of right wingers at a managerial level to restore what they saw as balance but essentially what you had is a lot of educated people from all walks of life. Confusing left wing and educated is the self put down so many people throw about unfortunately. |  |

The BBC, despite years of being top-heavy with known Conservatives in several influential positions, is required to be unbiased in its news gathering and reporting. For the most part it does well. Nick Robinson, for example, spent years as a Conservative activist. As a left-leaner I am confident in his ability to be unbiased in his political interviews on the 'Today' programme. I just wish he wouldn't go on so much about Manchester United!
