Anyone else think they could do a Leicester 2016, this season? They are playing some absolutely terrific football so far this year.

Starting to think that Champions League football next season is on. Can still get decent odds for them winning the title.

Hope not!

Some of there fans are ok but some of their “lifelong fans” who 10 years ago supported Chelsea, Spurs etc etc will just be unbearable

Didn't they also have a good start last season and then dropped off in the 2nd half of the season, or am I confusing them with Bournemouth?

I can't say I find them likable club, but they seem to be routinely taking teams apart at the moment. It would be nice to see a team, other than one of the big six, giving it a good go though.

The amount of empty seats at 85 mins against Palace when they’re 5-0 up is revealing. Typical of the modern “fan” who doesn’t understand what it truly means to support a team - through thick and thin. Would be interesting to see how their attendances fair if they got relegated. Historically they’re a 2nd/3rd tier club.

Would be great to see another ‘miracle’, and Man City may not be a legitimate contender at season end also.

I'd normally agree, but getting out of that place at full-time is a nightmare!

They have been superb this season. How football is supposed to be played. Free flowing attacking.

If City are given a healthy points deduction, then they have a chance. Scoring for fun and don't concede many. Top 4 is a real possibility.

Not sure why there's a dislike of Brighton, other than jealousy? Their fans went through so much, with nearly going bust and playing at the Withdean for so many years. Their set up is exactly what we should follow, their scouting operation seems like second to none considering their budget, and they're enjoyable to watch.

Hopefully, Arsenal are boring and seem to be the Manchester United of the 90s when it comes to their fanbase.

It would be awful for Brighton, and English football, if they finish second to Man City and lose out in the title due to arguments about the 114 charges continuing. That needs to be concluded fast so clubs know where they stand.

Would be much less of a shock than Leicester IMO.

I would like to see them do it.

I hope so!

Would be great to see an English club with British owners win the EPL.

Unfortunately it seems to be a big trend that any club who has a bit of success lets it go to their head and they become arrogant (as a collective). I include Town in that.

In recent times we've also seen it from Birmingham and Coventry. Even Norwich ending last season strongly and predicting a title challenge.

Don't they have Liverpool and City next if they get through those with positive results then they are definitely in with a shout but is their squad deep enough?

God forbid supporters gloat when their team are looking half decent.

A trend that has been happening since professional football became popular.

It would be a surprise but it really would not be 'a Leicester'. Leicester had only just survived the year before and in no way looked a good prem team the season before. While on the other hand Brighton have been getting better for a while now with a totally different model.

It's mainly down to Brighton fans I suspect, some of whom are very sensitive and entitled as came out after our two wins at their new ground. I'm not sure those ones were at Gillingham or the Withdean.

They are a very good team at the moment though.

No.

But they could be realistic champions league contenders.

Would rather them than snoozefest Arsenal, or Man City in the event they manage to dodge consequences for another season.

The point in my OP was more to them being an underdog, and not part of the big six, rather than a complete copy of the situation.

I don't think it would be quite as much of a shock. They've been a top side for a while now, but just not yet put a full season of top football together. They certainly look as thought they could this year though.
