I dont know how you do it and its obviously a problem with modern pre match ticketing but the demographic of that stands needs to change... its a long time ago now but there used to be a right of passage through the stands, once youd done your time as a "youth" at the front of any stand you went to The North for the craic then moved on to Churchmans etc when youd done your bit!

But there was literally nothing.

Block nearer to West Stand is trying a bit.

Would a better designed mega Cobbold encourage the singing section nearer to the South if the away fans remained there?

Trouble is, the North has been all-seater for 34 years now and many of the same people still sit there, so are now in their 50s and 60s.

To be blunt, it won’t matter what those fans want.

If the club wants to improve the atmosphere then they’ll have to move regardless.

This would definitely be controversial (and almost definitely not possible) but to encourage the younger fans there how about an over 30 tariff and in t&cs acceptance required of occasional restrictive views caused by flags and banners.

I see Borsussia Dortmund have just introduced a scheme to do just that. Reward fans who stay off their phones.
I started in the north stand as a kid, stayed there through my teenage years and early "adulthood" until I had kids of my own to take. We moved to the Cobbold, Now in my 70s I sit in the Churchmans with the other oldies and their tartan blankets.
That's how it works isn't it?

Yeah, pretty much agree with that. Most in the North Lower should probably think about relocate to Churchmans or elsewhere. Let the yoof take the middle and make some noise.

The rot started when my four friends and I voluntarily moved the upper north early in the 2021-22 season to make way from members of Blue Action.

Seriously though, there are three thoughts that strike me.

1. The songs that Bock A start are rather dirge[like and not as varied, catchy and spontaneous as at away games.

2. More generally, we haven't replaced the recent catchy songs for players who have departed.

3. The north stand being tow-tiered is much less conducive to co-ordinated singing than if it were a single tier, as is the case at most away games.

The Northstand has become quite depressing and sanitised
Old Boys like me who will join in but there is nothing to join in with
Yoof who seem have no interest other then their phones
The bloody pre match stuff kills the atmosphere
I would move to the side to get Blue Action in and they should be given every support by the club.
But we are not really wanted now, how dare we pay our money up front and refuse to buy over priced scoff and drink.
