They also elected the right wing president who was been veto’ing the appointment of the new judges.
However he can only do that with valid reason which he will not provide, so the Polish judiciary took matters into their own hands and removed 2 members of the current constitutional court.
Also worth bearing in mind, PIS, the previous government used the constitutional court to block EU laws, which was in turn ruled as an abuse of their power. | | | |

By signing up to join the EU, of which Poland has benefited the most from financially since joining out of all member states, Poland accepted EU regulations on immigration.
PIS Of which the President is a member want to pick and choose what EU laws they accept, and use the constitutional court for that measure.
They are also now demonising Ukrainians as stealing Polish jobs, health care and being benefit scroungers. And if it’s not Ukrainian people, they tell people that Islam is coming to destroy the Catholic religion.
