| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

(That's with the current Irish Restrictions in place) If you have symptoms of any sort, do not go and self isolate. This part is being drilled into us over here.

Well I thought that was obvious SB, why put yourself at more risk that you necessarily need to. I'm happy to go on as normal as usual and get on with my day to day life but do I want a hygienist at such close proximity who has in turn been in other people manky gobs. I don't think that it's an unreasonable thing to consider.

You need to put more meat on your opening post. Hygienist can wait if you aren't comfortable, it if was a root canal then I'd say you should go. SB

It's just a routine clean up - that's the point. If I was in agony I wouldn't have posed the question tbh.

I actually pre-empted my appointment, as I’ve been avoiding getting some work done on a tooth but the only other dentist in our village closed last week due to a case of coronavirus. I don’t want to go into lockdown at some point in the near future and the pain got worse with no way of getting it fixed.

I went for a check up last Tuesday, my dentist is very big on this checking for early signs of mouth cancer and always 'pulps' my tongue for any lumps and so on. This time she took it all the way to feeling round my throat as well. Trouble is I think when she was finishing off the check up I may have inadvertently started to caress the back of her thumb with my tongue. She then said I needed a filling sorted out and she could do it (the filling) right away. Should I read anything into this?

I have an appointment the Thursday after next and need to get 3 buses to get there as well. I may call them to see if they are still willing to see me. Typically my back tooth has been throbbing and sore and the gum inflamed for a couple of weeks. I would have cancelled if that pain wasn;t there.
