Birmingham City retire number 22 shirt on 20:39 - Jul 23 with 2585 views | Marshalls_Mullet | It's a stupid idea, but also meaningless. No one craves the 22 shirt, so it won't be missed. It's not like AC Milan retiring the No5 shirt for Resi. Stupid and pointless idea.

Birmingham City retire number 22 shirt on 08:51 - Jul 24 with 2330 views | RobTheMonk | Have over 500 appearances for the same club and make a huge difference and then maybe I'll forgive it. Maldini anyone? Edit - I believe Milan have said that only a Maldini can wear the number 3 shirt (so loop hole for one of his sons). [Post edited 24 Jul 2020 8:53]

Birmingham City retire number 22 shirt on 15:03 - Jul 24 with 2215 views | TieDyedIn95 | I know he's 17 but playing a single season for a less than impressive and largely crud Brum side is not noteworthy. He may have sold for a load of money, but that doesn't mean he's going to suddenly go from being a half good Championship player to a Champions League player. He could vanish into thin air like many do these days. Remember Peles prodigy? No? No one does and he was paid millions. Retiring the shirt is a joke. Should we build a Tyrone Mings statue just because? Name a stand after Cresswell? Rename the fanzone the Daryl Murphy Night Out.....

I'd give this a read, Dortmund are rarely wrong with their recruitment. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53280774

There was a vicious takedown by a female fan that went with that video originally. I can't find it now. Dougie seemed to take it in good spirits though, to be fair to him. Not one of our better signings for sure.

Sincerely one of the most inept and ineffective professional footballers I have ever seen. I said at the time that you could have taken almost any Ryman level midfielder from a local club and he would have done a better job. What's worse than the fact we signed him is that week-in-week-out he put in those kind of performances yet he was continually selected. I was a big McCarthy fan, but to play Douglas when he clearly offered next to nothing to the team was a real head scratcher.
