Might tie in with what others have suggested in that the new consortium may be looking to appoint managers on short-term deals in order to achieve very specific goals.
i.e. Cook may have simply been brought in to achieve promotion from League One, at which point a new man might be brought in to steer us through the Championship. |  |

Imagine Evans has now learned that gigantic contracts are not the way to go.
