Anyone else buzzing for tonight? 11:50 - Mar 9 with 2711 viewsSwailsey

It may just be the sun, or the fact that I'm still riding the wave of PL not being here, but I'm so excited to see what team PC puts out today and the changes to our play he may have made.

Saturday was too soon to really see an impact I think (plus, he couldn't really change a winning team), so tonight may give us a better idea.

I'm gonna get a Pizza. Have a seat. Enjoy the fact that I feel joy again.

I can see a few not making the bench, sears for one.

downes in from the start, pressing the midfielder higher up the pitch

We’ll be good again... one day

I'd be very surprised if we see sears in a town shirt again.

I'm hoping to see a few changes. Downes agree needs to come in.

Yes! Very much so.

Sounds strange but Cook perhaps needed the Gillingham defeat to then select his own team from what we have. If he had of changed a winning team and lost he would of got slated by some.

I think we will see Matheson in at RB, Chambers in to CB and Downes starting. Hope to see a real change in play with a bit more attacking freedom. Must create chances!

No. Smile away

This is Cook not Lambert. So there is a chance he doesnt need to much time to figure out subtle changes could make a massive difference:)

I'm still pumped and gone for my 3-1 win again it will happen!!

In a weird, perverse kind of way, I've been encouraged by losing 3-1 at the weekend because it makes me think we might start seeing more entertaining games. Feel free to call me an idiot.

I don't suppose we'll be going gung ho but it's clearly a focus for Cook.

The majority of the season our defence has been okay but so has the opposition's because we haven't troubled them enough.

Bring on the 4-3 scorelines.

I think people need to not expect too much too soon nor be despondent if we don't see much change for a few games yet.

It's going to take a bit of time but so long as some direction becomes clear after a few matches then all will be well (we'd hope).

But you know that won't happen. Each time we lose there will be over analysis and freaking out from many quarters!

Should definitely feel that buzz from cub a good manager at the helm.

I’m just looking forward to the project he undertakes.

I should be but it's still way too early for any changes/coaching to be significant enough

As me gain at full time and if we've won it might be a different answer but really can't see us getting much tonight although I've been wrong before....so Mrs Hacker tells me anyway

I wish I could dispel the impending despondency (or should that be imminent despondency) but I really do not feel too optimistic for tonight after the bump down to Earth on Saturday. I think there is an element of also dispelling over eagerness for a turnaround too. If we get a good result tonight it is better for it to be an unexpected and pleasant surprise rather than another sinking feeling.

And, being a typical football supporter, I also have an underlying hope that if Cook is the manager he is, apologies for the unavoidable turn of phrase, cooked up to be then we can go on a winning streak all the way to automatic promotion. All things considered 'conflicted' is a word that should come up when describing our predictions much more than it does.

We all gave Lambert plenty of time, i'm sure we'll see changes gradually implemented, but I genuinely think we'll see improvements in a shorter timeframe, but can't expect much this season.

Playoffs IMO would be a good achievement from the point of where found ourselves when Cook took over.

(obviously a massive underachievement as a club overall)

Looking forward to seeing signs of the tweeks and adjustments over the next few games.

I would just like to hear the following

" Downes plays the ball to Bishop, who finds judge, Bishop continues his run and finds himself in space, Judge passes inside to Bishop who finds Matheson making a late run from deep on the right hand side, Matheson takes on his man, there are 4 town players in the box, Matheson whips the ball in................... GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Norwood smashes the ball home.

Such a shame we can't be there to welcome PC .

I really do feel we have someone in charge with the right football philosophy and good man management skills - if the players don't respond , they want ditching come the end of the season .

Necessary growing pains. We've had a chunk of players over the past 3 years who've been able to hide behind Hurst/Lamberts performances as manager. Most Town fans think Cook is a big step up for the club and if they cannot deliver under him they simply aren't worth keeping, this will separate the men from the boys and the people who want to win from the piss takers and wage claimers.

Fun and games are over, they are playing for their jobs. I doubt many will play for a club our size again let alone do anything in the Championship.
