I won't go as far as that for the time being but I will say that it looked like we were playing for a draw against the 3rd lowest ranking side in the tournament. Where were the subs? If you've got 5 available and things aren't working then what excuse have you got for not making more changes? Credit to Scotland, they made themselves hard to beat but we just offered nothing.
This is the side I've watched play in the Nations League for the last year, completely devoid of the ambition that their individual ability should dictate. I said before the tournament that if Kane isn't on song or gets an injuries we're up the creek without a paddle. Maybe it was just the occasion that got the better of them but this was nowhere near good enough.
On a positive note I will say I felt Pickford and Mings did alright. This result is not the end of the world by any stretch but that performance was shameful. | |

Agreed.
If you play 4-2-3-1, you need your attacking midfielders and no.9 to be on their game. Kane looks unfit and out of form, Sterling is nowhere near his best. Foden and Mount has looked good at times but are not making too much impact.
The back four are ok but have mistakes in them, I like Rice and Phillips.
We will be ok until we face a top side when the lack of quality in defence will get found out. | | | |
