Breakfast. Lunch. Tea. Dinner. Supper. 10:10 - Jul 9 with 1148 views | Fixed_It | Does anyone have all of these? Is 'supper' even a thing now - it was when I was a kid. And who has tea and dinner? Unless, of course, your dinner is actually your lunch. And does anyone have 'elevenses'? So what do you have?

I try to do as much exercise as possible, but essentially my day job is quite sedentary, so the idea I need 2500 calories is not right for me, generally have between 1300-1500 per day.

Breakfast. Lunch. Tea. Dinner. Supper. on 10:16 - Jul 9 with 1119 views | TractorWood | It's breakfast lunch and dinner in my book. Tea is fine if it's beans on toast at 5pm before football training but would never call it my dinner. Supper is exclusively for the landed gentry, generally the sort of people who have signet rings and call dessert 'pudding'.

The evening meal is tea I do say lunch sometimes, but to me that is when it is just a light dinner (eg a quick sandwich on the go). I have never been able to get used to people referring to dinner being an evening meal

Supper is my favorite meal of the day. It is usually eaten between 10:30 and 12 and involves the insane devouring of trifle, tunnocks teacakes and any chocolate that can be found in the house washed down with lashings of chocolate/strawberry milk. I believe others call it the munchies

I very rarely eat cucumber, and for long time avoided it altogether. I've been told that you burn more calories eating and digesting it than you take on board from cucumber. On top of that all it tastes of is water. And there is the repeat effect, but at least that is usually burping rather than farts. [Post edited 9 Jul 2021 15:14]

I think you're vastly underestimating your daily intake. Try weighing and tracking what you eat for a few days. Most adult men have a BMR of more than 1500 and that's if they spent 24 hours a day laying down.

"I've been told that you burn more calories eating and digesting it than you take board from cucumber." And the same of any watery green salady foodstuff of course. Although I'm pretty sure it's not true. I like cucumber as it goes, but cannot understand people who insist on wanting it peeled. To me if they dislike it enough to want it peeled then it's best not to bother with it at all.
