So, this fan stream thing. 22:10 - Jul 29 with 3025 viewsBlueBadger

I've been working all day and am just catching up.

Is it fair to say that they Just Get It then?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Very much so.

All proper football people that seem to understand all the things you need to do to maximise your chances of success on and off the pitch.

Very impressive in general, certainly talking the talk and (as things stand) walking the walk.

I really rate the comments about the fans needing to be the 12th man for the duration of the game. I know the last decade has been rough but there's been many a home game where large sections have turned if we're not winning after 10 minutes. Save the moans til after the game.

Amazing what happens when real football people get appointed to a football club.

I'm about halfway through it now. I'm clapping to stuff they're saying even though I'm sat at home. It's ***king amazing after years of smoke and mirrors, completely honest and open.

Some very genuine and thorough answers to the questions posed. I have absolute faith in them following that… or at least as much as you could at this point in time. Hard to put it all into words but they haven’t given me a single reason to have even a shadow of a doubt at this point.

Genuinely think ashton is building something special here… but time will tell. I can see why we are signing players that may appear out of reach when you listen to him speak. Clear, calm, confident and passionate.

The only thing that could have been better were the questions…. A lot of focus on our negativity as a club and what was that question about Pompey!!? Bizarre haha

The fans turn because the players are supposed to entertain them; the players are there fir them, nit vice versa.

Which in a way is true! So it’s not quite as simple as PC says!

I'm also half way through.

My word its positive, and they are coming across very well, well informed, and thorough.

It just brings into such harsh light the buffoonery of Evans and his 'CEOs' - Milne and Clegg were relatively hopeless.

Yeah I understand that people want to be entertained as paying customers but we've created a real nervous energy at times just through impatience. It's been hard to support the team at times but that's your job when you're in the ground.

I know Cook said he'd experienced the same thing at Pompey but I absolutely hated going there in the cup under Mick, and again at the end of 2019. They don't stop, they got under our skin (it's no coincidence we finished both games with 10 men) and they made a couple of pretty average performances from their team sound like they were outstanding. We've got to create and sustain a similar atmosphere if we want to contribute to Fortress Portman Road!

I'm optimistic, but also feel like a lot of credit is being thrown around at the moment before we've even won a single football match.

Isn't the credit justified?

No one can say well done on results as we've not played any competitive games yet with the new squad.

The credit being given is for what they have achieved so far which Evans failed with - Structure is the biggest thing. It hasn't been a case of we know we need to... they've come in and put it together.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

Winning football matches is what justifies any decision you make in football. None of us are in a position to make anything more than a superficial judgement on what's happened off the field so far.

Are you saying the cleaning/modernisation of the stadium won’t be justified if we lose games? Same with the community engagement stuff etc?

I think they'll count for very very little if we aren't successful on the pitch. The old regime used to periodically do fairly similar "re-engaging with the fans" PR offensives. They come relatively cheap and are easy to do when you're in a honeymoon period. But no-one is interested in how recently you've re-painted the turnstiles if you're losing and fan forums are much less appetising when fans have got things to complain about.

I liked the moment of humour when O'Leary asked what the questioner about fan relations in hard times was drinking and someone replied that had already been tried.

I think you're right, but, equally, building up a head of "good vibes" around the club will help in finding success on the pitch. A positive feeling around the place with fans more or less all being behind the team and the management will give encouragement to the players. One fewer thing to be mentally fighting against.

Watched it live, and taking into account all the interviews done with the Gamechanger guys by various podcasts - we've landed on our feet in spectacular fashion haven't we?

I keep expecting someone to wake me up and tell me it's all a dream.

When I look around at the carnage at other clubs, and hear our new leadership talk. it's like night and day.

After Evans, I think pretty much anyone could've rocked up and created good vibes just by being someone else.

And in turn, as Ashton said last night, they’ve pretty much landed on their feet with Ed Sheeran sponsoring the club too, with the interest generated from that!

It is all looking so very positive on multiple fronts now!
