Club looking for food vendors to operate in fan zone. 13:18 - Nov 2 with 1688 viewsPinewoodblue

US clubs tend to have a good selection of food outlets in their fan zones. Could this be a Bret Johnson initiative after his recent visit.

Any suggestions?

Probably more to do with the general lack of catering and service staff across all sectors due to perfect storm of the effects of the pandemic and Brexit.

The real question is what weird and wonderful food do we want?

Best food I ever got from a mobile vendor was Poutine outside an Ice Hockey tournament. That stuff was amazing!possibly a bit niche to have Canadian cuisine at a League 1 fan zone though.

...and clams from a stall outside Fenway Park once.

Can't imagine it being a hit with Town fans really.

Shouldn’t be too hard to find an interesting range of British and British-immigrant food vendors, and I personally would love something like that. Go to your average festival or food market and you get Jamaican, Indian, Greek, Spanish without too much trouble. That plus a couple of decent beer stands and it should cater to the modern British palette, and who knows even be a little draw/incentive for the punters.

Pies and burgers also have their fancy artisan versions too, get them in.

I’m not sure curries and jerk chicken are the preserve of hipsters these days, or have been for some time. I’m probably stretching with artisanal pies, perhaps my description was wrong. I’m referring to cut-above Burger van quality fayre, which is not uncommon.

Can’t speak to the itfc fanzone tastes tbf but this kind of thing is pretty familiar to the public at large

We're far too behind the times for that...

They'd prefer to just rob us for rubbish pies(they used to have actual chunks of meat in them you know!)....or get a hundred people to queue up to a van at half time for a rubbish burger..

Hmmm, I wonder if he did notice....

Eating’s cheating - surely just need beer festival style tables, a load of 2 pint steins and a selection of beers.

To be fair just simple fish and chips/ hog roast etc would go down well.

It’s true, the catering at Portman road has been so behind the curve for so long. Someone with the absolute basic knowledge about this would know how far public attitudes have shifted in the last decade or so , hopefully Brett is one such man. Tottenham having a Beavertown brewery bar on site shows what a club with an eye on ‘match day experience’ is doing.

I’ve never been to a fanzone in my life, but if there was a half decent pint and a pulled brisket bap on offer id seriously consider it

Had a stunning hog roast outside the Ricoh many years ago, and guess what, the guy actually had them ready and wrapped in foil so service was instant, isn't that incredible!!

Ohh...i'm in....the shocking burger and chip vans outside....look, I support them and still buy my overpriced hotdog, but I'd much prefer to head to FanZone and buy myself a fresh oven pizza or curry from a decent street food van.

Not every footy fan is a greaseball chaser.

I got food poisoning twice when wearting from the one near the club shop - could be coincidence as these things usually affect larger numbers - but enough to say no thankyou from superstition alone.

I went to a Northampton Saints game a few weeks ago and their "fan zone" food selection was excellent. Foot long hotdogs stand, fish and chips, pulled pork/BBQ stall, veggie stand, lots of beer tents, coffee and hot chocolate, all open before and after the game with a live band after as well. Someone from the club should pay a visit...
