Trouble is that role right now is a nightmare, that squad is relegation fodder, they might be able to spend in January but they will have their trousers pulled down their ankles and pay £100m for the likes of Martial.
Can see why Emery would have reservations given he's managing a CL side currently and given the state of Madrid and Barca that league is wide open. |  |

I'd probably not want to be the first new manager of the new regime either.
It feels as though this is a job where you want to be following someone, as the expectation right now it the new manager will be a miracle worker and attract players like Mbappe.
