There's another study you need to debunk ...

53% drop in transmission. If you know that, and don't wear a mask (if you are able to), then you are a selfish c***. Unfortunately that leaves us with a high percentage of selfish and/or ignorant people in this country.

Having travelled into London the other day by train - I have to say, there were more people wearing masks than I had expected, probably about 50%.

Thought similar on my way back to the smoke the other day. Still, would be good if more people would take responsibility - especially in cramped areas like the Tube.

Oh, and aren't Greater Anglia's new trains nice? Even have free WiFi which is quite something.

Yes, better if more did wear but it was more than I had expected!

Personally, I really don't like the new GA trains, seats are rock hard, the lighting is awful....but maybe that's just me.

That's interesting. When I was back in the motherland recently I got the train once and only me, my partner, the conductor, and one other person were wearing masks. There were very few empty seats on the train as well.

Been to A&E and fracture clinic in last week*. Almost 100% wearing masks, guess the selfish/ignorant brigade never suffer injuries.

Early morning commuter train into London - pretty packed as well.

As I say, I was surprised - wasn't expecting that many - clearly needs to be higher.

Saw this earlier but I tend not to post studies anymore since it seems to upset so many people.

The evidence has been there for a while, having more evidence such as this study helps helps to highlight the point that if you're not wearing a mask you need to ask yourself why and undertake some self-reflection.

Paz Tribute Act will be along shortly to claim he has a source that says otherwise, but won't actually link it.

Anyone want to take a bet on how long?

I'm with Homer on this one. The seats in the old ones were much more comfortable than on the new ones and I you could actually get a bit of fresh air in the old trains which you can't in the new ones. Not a fan, personally.

Clean, free wifi, more spacious, more energy efficient, and USB/charging plugs on every seat.

I am dumbfounded.

There are the reeeeallly old ones which I quite like, then the less old but still old ones which are meh and I quite liked the new ones. I probably didn't notice how hard the seats were and the lighting because I was too busy sucking down Broadsides...

Anyway, didn't mean to go all loco and derail an important thread about masks by going off track about choo choos. My apologies.

The old trains had plug sockets and free WiFi as well, at least on the mainline anyway. I don't find the new trains to be at all comfortable.

Mask-wearing on Manchester trams is barely 10%, and on buses is almost zero.

The quality of trains on the Great Eastern Main Line is about as important a subject as you can get my friend, mask wearing is a mere trifle in comparison.

I'm afraid you'll have to remove or edit your post since it contains no train puns.

I do get worried about talking trains on here as we have a fair share of anoraks and you soon realise how out of your depth you are.
