It’s a shocker from the Crewe defenders letting that bounce but that makes Celina’s control and instant finish even more impressive – he could hardly have been expecting it or probably ever saw it tried before.

I’ not sure why peoplecompare it to Finidi’s goal. Finidi faced a keeper 4-5 yards ahead of him, he just had to lob the keeper if did that, and the direction was right it is a goal.
Cellina was faced by a keeper still within his six yard box, a much more difficult task. |  |

Probably because they were both lobs from the same area of the pitch. Very different goals overall. I prefer Finidi’s as I’m a sucker for good team play and would love us to play like that again. The individual quality of Celina’s though is almost unbelievable. | |

I think they compare as a couple of the greatest ever goals at PR. And the deliciously slow drop of the ball from the same angle to the same post is great.
Finidi’s goal has so much before it though. Celina’s was a moment of genius but Finidi applying one of the very best finishes to one of the very best buildups takes it into a different category. I think he even started the move, which is lost from most of the videos. | |

I agree - that touch and finish are incredible but for me what’s even more impressive is his awareness of the situation
