Question. Would you have him here on loan next season?

Question: why ask the forum if we’d have a player that a) would never come here in a million years and b) is awaiting trial for an extremely serious offence that means no club will touch him until it has been determined whether he is indeed guilty or not.

I believe it was a hypothetical question based in part on morality, whether a player has a right to carry on with his living regardless of a pending court case. And whether a players ability overrides all outside factors.

Not meant as literally as you took it.

No. Forgetting ability. How could you as a community club support a player during a pretty horrid situation. I'm surprised even utd are allowing him back until he's cleared of all wrong doing. ( which doesn't seem likely?)

They’ll be ‘allowing’ him back because his lawyers will have said they need to.

Give him a ball and direct him to the corner of the training ground to play on his own. That should cover it lol.

He isn’t awaiting trial. He’s waiting to discover whether he will be facing trial.

As for whether he would come here, I’m not so sure. He has been out of the game for months so would need to rebuild his fitness and confidence. He has links is with KM and other staff here.

One thing’s for sure he would be the exact type of player to fit our system.

To make it clear to those, like you, who are jumping up and down in moral indignation, I’m not saying he should or would come here, but let’s not forget there is a saying “innocent until proven guilty” in this country.

Doesn't seem to be true that he's returning to training. Man Utd have denied it and have stated that he remains suspended.

From the outside looking in and from what is available in the media then I wouldn't want him anywhere near our club . Until his court case is resolved then it's incredibly difficult to say for sure what his future is.

Sometimes a question is asked in order to start a discussion and then as points are raised by others the questioner makes their views known. You don’t have to answer your own question there-and-then.

There’s also a ‘I don’t want him associated with our club because he might be guilty of some quite horrendous accusations and should he be proven innocent then he’s free to resume his career and be under consideration for other clubs to look at’.

For the same reason I won’t be inviting Prince Andrew to my barbecue in two weeks. He might have done nothing wrong. But just in case, given the accusations, I’d rather not hang around him.

I think McKenna’s looking to build a squad around specific character and it is questionable whether Greenwood compliments that.

If charges are dropped and McKenna thinks he’s suitable then I’m still not sure whether I’d like it due to the inevitable circus which will follow.

From the recordings I've heard he sounds like an utter scumbag.

That being said, if he was available and keen to come here (which he definitely wouldn't) I'd sign him up in an instant.

Even if it fails to get to court or he’s found not guilty, I wouldn’t want that scumbag at our great club.

The audio of that day is absolutely sickening. Whether he’s legally guilty is one thing but whether he actually did it is a new matter entirely. Vile.

No, there isn't. There is a legal presumption of innocence. The phrase is "Presumed innocent until proven guilty" and applies to how our Courts conduct themselves. Other sensible restrictions may be placed on peoples' liberty whilst they await trial, depending on the risk they pose to themselves or the Public, as judged by appropriate authorities.

Otherwise there would be no prisoners serving time on remand, and those working with children, or other vulnerable groups, who are charged with, or under investigation for, serious offences couldn't be suspended.

It would be a massive breach of everything Gamechanger say they stand for to even consider taking advantage of his current situation for our short-term gain.

He is suspended, he is not going back to training.
