I remember seeing something on Twitter about a woman ringing into LBC saying she voted Tory last time because Labour said they wanted to end foodbanks and she relied on them.

“We show them how to cook cheap and nutritious meals on a budget – we can make a meal for about 30p a day – and this is cooking from scratch,” he added." And still ignorant fckers vote for his sort When not molesting young boys, watching porn/taking backhanders in the HoC they are lecturing voters of how to live with poverty. It should be put to him that he should visit this latter day soup kitchen and have him demonstrate how you can eat for 30p.

I do enjoy how this 'you can eat for 30p a day' rubbish is trotted out and you know what. You can. If you ignore the fact that after that day there is another day. Then another one. Good luck eating for 30p a day whilst maintaining a healthy diet, a balanced one and not having massive mental health issues from depression of existing solely on a baked potato with some butter in it every night for the next few years. Meanwhile, this scum get £50 steaks subsidised to the tune of £10 and then don't even pay that £10 out of their own pockets. In what world should a Foodbank even need to exist, but where it does just get on with it. Don't stand there laughing at a photo opportunity. It's like pushing somebody out of a fifth floor window and then grabbing a photographer to capture the moment you present them with a second hand wheelchair you had knocking about. Now smile and be grateful. [Post edited 11 May 2022 17:04]

I'd like to see a day's calories for £0.30. On Youtube there are lots of challenges on living on £1 a day. That was before inflation really took hold and people struggled. It was just lots of white carbs most of the time. It makes sense. If someone literally has £1 for a day's food they aren't going to go for something nutritious when they could buy a loaf of cheap bread and a packet of value biscuits and at least not go hungry.

Exactly right. You can just eat jam and bread, or make pasta with a cheap sauce to stir in or live entirely on biscuits. But there is no way that somebody is doing a £2.10 shop, giving their body the right number of calories, the right split of carbs, protein, iron, vitamins etc, not having excess fat or sugar. It's just patronising and another Tory lie to make the idiots that vote for them believe that normal people have plenty of money and mismanage it. It's the 2020's 'everyone on benefits spends all their money on booze and drugs'.

correct a douche. years of adds by the capitalist companies for fast food , tv dinners etc hasn't helped. the add mens favourite slogan "to help you with your busy lifestyle" my mrs who is her 70s learnt to cook at school , i don't know if that's a thing now. also the cheap cuts of meats which we used in the 50s and 60s have all been discovered by the trendy chefs (beef brisket, breast of lamb, belly pork etc so they have shot up in price. i think the unruly pig had cod cheeks and bone marrow on their starters list for something stupid money. you couldnt give them away at one time. same with oysters ,was a poor mans food till the rich found them

We have a PM, that has resources and can and has made choices, with respect to his health status. In a country with people starving, is Harry10 really fat shaming the PM sometimes, or pointing out an obvious disparity? If you listen to Gove (interview I saw earlier) it is because of the lack of investment of the Labour Government. How many decades do the Conservatives have to continue to make it far worse before it becomes their problem?

I am not sure about the vacuous newspeak, but I am sure that bloater told us all how we need to get fit, and shed the pounds after he came out of hospital (covid) https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/12232124/boris-johnson-full-obesity-plan/ How much of that happened ? Or was it just another one of his boasts that he was doing something, then forgotten and dropped as with pretty much everything else he spouts ? Well, for his part he has got fatter, looking like he could use a bra in shots when his jacket is off. Whereas those on a low income do not have much choice about what food they can afford, never mind joining a gym, or weight watchers. They are not MPs eating in a subsidised restaurant on expenses - whilst lecturing others. If this was someone lecturing others on the harm of alcohol, yet being permanently pssed, that fact would be regularly commented on. However, because some nonsensical mumbo jumbo has been invented, that gets used instead. Much as in the HoC where you can lie (as Johnson consistently does), yet the offence is in pointing that out. Millions of old and vulnerable folk are obliged to exist on a diet of cheap, processed 'food', yet are being lectured by overweight gutbuckets pandering to like minded bigots with no grasp of, or intention of understanding, how demeaning and soul destroying having to live like that is. https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/organic-takeaways-boris-johnson-nurses-pa "A butler had been smuggling in organic food and drinks worth £27,000 to the couple, over eight months. The Daily Mail said the wife of a rich Tory donor allegedly organised the daily deliveries, and at least some items were paid by her. This comes despite Johnson’s claim this year that he has to pay for all his food at No 10. (ANOTHER LIE)
