We have certainly looked by some way the fitter/stronger team in our 3 games so far, albeit Bolton did dominate on that front for the first 20 minutes.

Much, much fitter. I’m sure the stats would back that up. I honestly don’t think it was ever all about desire as some would’ve had you think. We’re way better drilled now and way fitter. It helps that we’ve got a squad of players at much better ages, but I can’t help but feel the professionalism we have through our set up is making a big difference. We’re the real deal. It’s easy to not let yourself believe it as we’ve had so many false dawns but I really like what I see. We’ll win a lot of games this season, especially if injuries are kind to us. The weakness for me is I’m not convinced our attacking depth is quite as people make out, and it rarely is in L1 to be fair. Jackson, TJJ, they’re willing runners and handy off the bench against tiring defences. They’re athletic, fit, but I personally don’t see either of them as goalscorers. That’s the bit I think we’re missing. Getting Dom Ball fit to cover Evans / Morsy, and a superior forward to challenge Ladapo. But we’re certainly a very strong side. We’ll be in the top 4. Up the Town.

The infrastructure throughout the club and the appointments Ashton has made really are making a difference aren't they, love to see it.

I spoke to JD towards the end of last season and he said KMc had them 'working like trojans' in training - but despite it being mental they still found the training stimulating and rewarding and they were all fully on board with it. I guess we are seeing it all beginning to pay off now.

Janoi Donacien appeared to morph into Cafu today! on 00:42 - Aug 14 with 1957 views | BonchosBicycle | All the talk has been about Burns but the right side was never just Burns, it has long been Donacien and Burns as a unit that have been tearing up that right side. Yes, Burns gets the goals but without JD it's not the same. Their celebration shows it all - they know they are more than the sum of their parts. Thank you Sir!

This why Kenny crammed in the double friendlies, he wanted legs in everyone and there is no doubt fitness plays a huge part in this league, it's v physical at times. I thought it'd be a tougher game than it was as despite losing Twine MKD are decent side but they are also one of the few teams in the division who won't park the bus and give is chance to play. As for JD, a player who when Lambo came in he would have cancelled the agreement if he could, well he has been superb for the last couple of seasons hasn't he, of all Hirsts signings did anyone think he'd be the best of them? Seems like a really lovely fella too (feel like there is quite a bit of that in this squad)

Completely agree. I can admit, seeing Janoi when he joined us playing under Hurst, then Lambert, I thought he was bang average, a back-up at best. We began to see his potential under Cook but once KMcK took charge, Wow, what a change. It really shows how having a great coach can just get so much more from players and get them to reach their true potential. So pleased for Janoi, a real top guy.

Janoi Donacien appeared to morph into Cafu today! on 09:04 - Aug 14 with 1552 views | Hipsterectomy | It's not often every player celebrating runs over to the assist maker rather than the goal scorer. From the photos yesterday I had to double check that Donacien hadn't scored it and I'd read it wrong

Up until the signing of Burns he never had any decent attacking intent infront of him. He was always decent defensively but when he went forward he had nothing supporting him. No chance of overlaps and Town under Hurst and especially under Lambert played walking football. Cook only saw him as versatile cover and nothing more. Would McK have seen this in him if McGreal / Dyer hadn't gone with Janoi in their interim spell? We'll never know. Kudos to to those two for starting the JD express I say.
