It's all going great. Can't complain or anything. on 20:28 - Sep 4 by J2BLUE
It's done mate. It's in the history books. It's over. He got you.
He was quoting another TWTD user who called McKenna smarmy for talking about Man U...days after he joined us from...Man U.
Yes indeed. I was softly referencing Frimley's famous hot take on our excellent manager. Some people really love to jump down other people's throats on here. I'd love someone to try and find a post where I criticise KMcK. I haven't. I think he's effing brilliant.

Some people.
‘Some people really love to jump down other people's throats on here’ as you’ve just needlessly made a new thread digging out another poster 9 months or so after the event. Get in the bin.

I see this 'asking for a friend' thing a lot.
WTF does it mean ?
It's used by unaware people to attempt to distance themselves from something that may be embarrassing or unpopular, by claiming that a friend said something or wants to ask something. I think it may have its origin in Agony Aunt letters to magazines or newspapers.
And then used sarcastically by knowing people, usually to either stir things up and get a reaction or to deliberately say the opposite of what they truly think.
This OP was quite a clever further twist, in that it alluded to a post on here from the beginning of KM's time at Ipswich which said that he was smarmy. So the "friend" is the person who posted that, and the effect of posting this thread was to remind everyone that that person had said that about KM, and not allow them to live it down.
