Tonight a slightly dangerous one 09:55 - Sep 13 with 2669 viewsSomethingBlue

More trust in this Town setup to win it than almost any other in the last two decades, but missing out on the weekend game was a bit of a jolt and that kind of curveball tends to favour the underdog. Marquis, Evans, Collins can all give us a problem, although there should be goals in it for us. Think we'll be ready and anything short of three points would be a surprise but would still take any kind of scraped win ahead of Sheff Weds.

3-0 home win.

Chaplin, Harness & Ladapo the scorers.

I'm hoping for the opposite. Uninterrupted training. I'm hoping McKenna has ironed out some of the minor flaws and a rested Town go out there and make a statement.

Truly impaired.

Whilst we won't take them lightly, I can see a comfortable home win tonight with Ahadme and Camara getting some more minutes. 3-1

Some tough games coming up so a win here is very much needed. If we fail in that then it would be 1 win in 4 at home and teams will know they can sit deep at PR and come away with a great away point.

Hopefully we do the business, as you say I’m more confident in this teams than previous ones. The extra few days off may have allowed any little niggles we had to clear up.

They are a decent team, some good players, Collins the pick.

Feeling good though, I'm sure Barton will try to use dark arts to frustrate us, but we should have enough. 2-0 Town

I agree that the lack of a weekend game likely to make this one more level than it would have been.

I would imagine that they will have a very capable first 11, but not much to dip into from the bench, so once again that last third of the game is likely to be decisive. Their first 11 will not have had the edge taken off them in a hard game chasing leather away at MK Dons on Saturday, which I think will level the playing field - not to say that Cambridge would not have been tough for us, but fewer of our key players would have played the full 90.

I still think that we will prevail, but we might have to endure a bit of frustration along the way

Believe one of their main defenders, Gibson from the prem maybe? is out injured tonight and they are already short at the back anyway

So there's that

Keogh to come in for me.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

That is very magnanimous of you. Are you sure you don't want a run out?

Pivotal 2 games for the season… on 12:49 - Sep 13 with 1893 viewsunstableblue

Tonight feels significant (aren’t they all?)

Just the kind of home game where we falter against a plucky lower level team… who are well managed. Barton will have them very fired up, and prepared.

Think their defensive injuries may help, but have a quality loan coming in mid/attack

Season after season of such shortcomings on key games has me nervous, but I think the squad depth and quality - and now the inherent competition- means we should win!

We’ve been hampered by too many 5 to 6 out of ten performances… just think an Evans, feels the competition now and won’t underperform

Plus Chaplin is on fire

As for Sheff Weds away - we played pretty stuff up there, but we’re easily beaten… that has to change

6 points from the next two and I feel the club and team has really made the leap forward needed to truly challenge the top two

I’d take 4 points now

I’ve a 2-0 in my head and I’m going with that.

I think we’ll dominate and without being brilliant claim another solid 3 points.

The team has looked much better than earlier versions when given a break, whatever they do from a coaching side, player capability/mindset it is a team that seems to retain most of the sharpness and the flow in their play.

I’m expecting no different in this one, only whether we score more than them. Up the towen.

No such thing as a 100% safe game, Burton deserved a point at least from us after all. That said this game is about as safe as they get at league one level imo.

I have confidence in this team, but I also know we've got to slip up in a match and its as likely in this one as any other.

We need to get an early goal and kill the game off after that, otherwise it could be a long evening.
