Loan watch 22:03 - Oct 8 with 3110 views | unstableblue | Baggot has been away on international duty and whilst away Gills form has slightly ticked up.. and today that resulted in him warming the bench and not getting an appearance, as the Kent side drew 1-1 away at Crewe. Our young whizz kid defender had been a regular up till his trip to Asia. Exeter are on good form and had one of the results of League One today, beating in form Barnsley 2-0 away. And our Rakeen Harper played the full 90mins in central midfield. He is now cementing a starting place week in week out. The star of this season’s loanees has been El Mizouni at high flying League 2 Leyton Orient… unfortunately he was subbed at half time and is off having a scan on a hamstring injury that may keep him out for weeks. Orient remain second, 2 points off leaders Stevenage with a game in hand. Burton pulled off a good 1-1 draw away at Peterborough, but our young centre back Ndaba is no where to be seen again. No league appearances I believe, and not even on bench today. I believe he’s made 1 pizza cup game. Injured? Or not rated? A mixed week for our loanees

Could be a shrewd move from Forest Green, if Wickham continues as that kind of form, people are going to think he is back

And has real quality when on it, but just hasn't been able to get fit - 5 goals in 568 minutes for a side in the relegation zone - doubt he'll be at FGR come the end of January

We'd have to lose a striker- I assume- if we'd bring one in. Not totally convinced about our strikers. I like Ladapo, but he shouldn't be our number one striker. Send Ahadme out on loan to create a space or send John Jules back to Arsenal? I'm guessing we'll keep it as it is.

you've missed the most obvious striker to get rid of to get another in

Not gonna happen - McKenna clearly rates Jackson. Seeing as we rotate selection a lot on those attacking positions (both from the start and within games) I'm sure we could bring another in and still keep them all involved. I've mentioned before, I think Ahadme has a few months to stake a claim and take away the need for us to get another attacker in January, otherwise he'll probably have a loan move for development.

Jackson? I'd say he's a handy player as 4th striker who can play out wide. Ahadme is a long term project (?) and TJJ isn't ours. Jackson did get us a penalty yesterday without playing that well.

I just dont see a player in there at all, obviously KMc knows a million times more than i ever will so it only matters what he thinks. but KJ missed the target yesterday from about 7 yards, that ball didnt even fly at him fast, or at a particularly tricky angle. didnt control hardly anything. with the way edwards has stepped up, i'd say he could play that out wide role (if burns is back in on the right)

does he rate him, or does he just have pace to stretch/worry teams, so has a purpose? i just dont see it with him at all, i want to, and i'll support him, but just dont see anything there

Fwiw I don't particularly rate him, but think he is a useful option off the bench against a tiring defence. McKenna gave him a new contract in the summer though, so I think he's here for the season at least.

yeah you're right. i just know that if its between jackson coming on out wide, or edwards, he's getting the vote everytime currently. but then i guess thats again good management from KMc, KJ will love the confidence that he's having shown in him

Think Kayden Jackson one of only players in squad who has literal Premier League attributes, but only on physical side and allows McK to use him in certain roles where he can affect the game as an option - Aluko commented a few times on the ifollow the other night how his pressing his scary. He’s one McKenna likes to use every now and again, but certain games really don’t suit him - if Wickham is playing like stats look like then he’d be a good addition for that all action front role

Jackson's stats are also pretty good. 4th best goals per 90 rate from the squad and same placing for shot conversion rate (better than Chappers). Edwards slightly skews the stats as he has is in first place but on very few minutes relative to the rest.

True, but his rating was only 4.67 yesterday, sixth best and the midfield guy in front of him, Goss, got the best marks by a long way for The Steelmen at 7.62. Maybe most of the team had a hangover after the midweek drubbing of Ross County ?

I reckon if Gamechanger can do the deal to get the old skool, award winning, Portman Pies back, that will be sufficient to tempt him over from FGR. A Quorny joke, admittedly.
