Fireworks can pi55 off 19:00 - Nov 5 with 3476 views | BlueStreak | Worst weekend of the year. Absolutely pointless, hope all the pets are ok out there (mine def isn’t, poor lad)
Mine loves them.... on 19:05 - Nov 5 with 3154 views | Bloots | ....she's literally standing at the window watching the sky and having the odd bark when she sees a rocket. Tail wagging away. She is a bit mental. My last hound absolutely hated them though, used to hide behind the sofa all night, we ended up getting tranquilizers from the vet to calm her down.

Mines on medication as well and currently hiding next to the sofa. Wouldn’t mind if it was just one night of it, but just the week or so after when they are still going off randomly that annoys mire.
Fireworks can pi55 off on 19:18 - Nov 5 with 3084 views | J2BLUE | Should be limited to organised displays. No need for randoms to buy them and let two off every 10 minutes for hours on end.

Where I live here in London we've had the pleasure of fireworks nearly every night for the last 2 weeks. From Sat 22nd we had the f**kwits starting the Diwali celebrations and that meant fireworks every night until approx the Wednesday. A few non nights of fireworks and then the f**kwits starting Halloween celebrations and more fireworks every night until approx Tues. Then a couple of days later and the f**kwits start guy fawkes celebrations with fireworks. I don't mind if people want to celebrate Diwali, Halloween, Guy Fawkes on the actual day but do we really need 2 weeks of fireworks nearly every night. The dogs won't go outside now once it gets dark as they're assuming darkness automatically equals fireworks. Same every year it will take them another 3 weeks to get back to normal.
Fireworks can pi55 off on 19:48 - Nov 5 with 2946 views | gtsb1966 | Spent £50 on fireworks today from tesco because I had the grandson over. Spent £2 on a knuckle bone for the dog and left her in lounge whilst we did fireworks. Dog was fine and grandson had a great time. Having said that I wouldn't be too upset if fireworks were banned for sale to the general public. Only today should they be set off in public. Not half way through October onwards when the kids buy them and piss everyone off.

I was worried about my puppy as he's not one year old yet. But we took him for a walk to the pub and back and he has loved seeing them. He's stopped to watch and at one point was trying to jump up at them. We have 4 kids though, so it's a busy and noisy house and I think he's used to loud noises.

...their attitude can change as they age. Mine's only just past 2 and she isn't an issue, but my previous gradually got worse as she got older. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.....or summink.

Just near my local supermarket there's a pub with a smokers club on the pavement. I assume it was one of them who threw a crackerjack (the one that's like a snake) into the road and it banged and moved and banged and moved as they do. Bit of a larf - it ain't 'urtin' no-one - you wanna fat lip - Brexit etc etc. Made me jump.

Those things would be going off every few.minutes during the day from November.ber to May. At times.it was like The Somme round my way. Thankfully they dont seem to be used as much now.

I'm not a fan of them myself as an adult, but I know I loved them when I was a kid so wouldn't want to take that away from the younger generation, I know my nieces and nephews love this weekend! What's up with older people wanting to do anything possible to take away any joy from younger generations?

You have the Stella to B&H ratio completely wrong. Yer gonna be completely outta Stella and still have half a pack of Bennys left
Fireworks can pi55 off on 12:08 - Nov 6 with 2022 views | BigCommon | Completely agree.... From Halloween , through to New Year.. It's firework season.. And they are getting louder and more powerful every year... Weirdly, one of my dogs will just sleep through anything. But the other is a shivering wreck, just scared and confused. I don't mind a few going off in the evening, for peoples entertainment. But they went on until well past 11pm near me.. Which is taking the pi55 imo.

your last sentence....it's not that, it used to be for the 5th Nov but now it can be any given day and for any celebration which has killed the joy of how it used to be..

I live off Norwich Road so about as central as you can get in Ipswich and there were a handful on Friday night (like barely any) and even yesterday was much more trimmed back than previous years...

I don't think we should ban either.

hey some of us older gen like fireworks still, even if my desire to set light to money has long since passed frankly the ones you can buy are always deeply disappointing, its just the curmudgeons who like to complain about everything that dont ;) but barely heard any this year, and it always used to be spread out whatever people claim, youd get the organised displays the day before or after the big display in the park, plus people doing the 5th if it didnt align with the Saturday. and fwiw Diwali is a week long festival, not just a specific day.

Well yes, to someone who's six they probably seem quite new. The novelty of things do wear off a bit after time. Then you die and someone else gets a turn. I can't say I'm keen on the arrangement myself but there you go.
