Nope. I wouldn’t be able to prioritise this over other things I’ve needed to use holiday on this year, but why not make a thing of it, so enjoy. Right now I’m not that fussed about it and will be more likely to watch us (one benefit of being in L1 at last!), but that may change.

There isn't a WC happening this year.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Looking at the schedule there are only afternoon games for the first 8 / 9 days, then all evening kick offs

Yep plus got an afternoon in town with a colleague watching a couple of games including I think Portugal v Ghana which sounded quite good. Interspersed with a visit to the old mitre tavern in Hatton garden

I've struggled to care so far gotta say.

Normally I'd be getting a bit excited at the prospect but given the circumstances have more than dampened things as it is without feeling put-out that it's the wrong time of the year...

I may well feel completely different once England are on the TV so not making any wild claims about boycotting it just yet.

I've got to admit that normally I would be trying to watch as many games as possible but I'm struggling to get my mojo working for this World Cup. For a start I'm more concerned about Towen atm and for me it just feels like having Christmas in June. Like you, I'll see how I feel once it gets going.

It’s a long shot, but it could have a positive influence on Qatar by hopefully having a peaceful World Cup , with people from all walks of life attending… I’m going to enjoy it, and watch as many games as possible.. it’s normally wet and grey when the world cups On anyway. So at least it will be sunny on the telly still..

My intention is not to watch any of it, suspect that will get severely tested if England get out of the group.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Work will likely host a few games in our London office with free beer. I'm not that excited due to the weird timing when I have a lot of other stuff to worry about!

I’ll be on paternity leave for some of it, which was timed well.

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

No. Probably won’t even watch it on tele. I doubt England will get out of the group - the players can pretend it’s a protest vote.

I have decided to not watch based on qatars extreme views and laws, and the general corruption that took place in them winning in the first place.

I am not trying to win pc points but the whole thing just seems wrong
I am surprised england are even going

I’ve barely registered thHe event so far. I guess if England get into the KO stages I’ll start to have a look, but what with the whole Qatar thing and it being at the wrong time of year I’m really not getting the vibes this time.

I'm not going to lie, I will watch some games.

However, my "enthusiasm" for it is a lot less than usual. Is it because it's in Qatar or the time of year. I'm not sure.

No way would I waste any annual leave on it! haha

Working in the mental health industry you need a break from it. Switch off for two weeks watching the World Cup . Got 4 weeks to use up by end of January.

I’m off from next Monday (in bournemouth and then in Manchester) until the following Tuesday. So will watch the england v Iran game with my mates family up north. They’re all Iranian. So that’ll be fun. Already looking forward to that.

We will have the shop shut I’d have thought for the england games later in the tournament. Plus we show them in shop too (betting industry)
