I think Japan will surprise. Its only a matter of time before Africa or Asia win this. European football is being caught up by athletisim of the Asian teams and hopefully the negativity and gamesmanship of the established countries will not win out this time.

You'll see THAT kit at the next World Cup (USA,Canada,Mexico 2026) don't you worry. With the expansion to that tournament it'll be virtually impossible for any South American team to not make it unless they are really bad like Venezuela or Bolivia currently. To be honest I think the time is long overdue for the two American zones to unify and Oceania needs to be included in Asia...It'll never happen..politics. Interestingly Oceania now get a guaranteed spot so I wonder if Australia will return from the Asia qualifying now.

I think Brazil, they qualified very strongly and have a very good spine of their team.
I think France have the best players, but all seem to hate each other at the moment. Anyone else on your list has a reasonable chance except perhaps Belgium who all their WC players other than De Bruyne and Courtois are past it or out of form

Yeah. The new qualifying criteria is very weighted in the favour of South America. New Zealand seem pretty guaranteed of WC football too unless, like you say, Australia move back to the Oceania section.
