Really interesting, and still all very familiar - I watched it with my Dad who obviously recognised more than me!

Had to slow it down to 0.25x speed though!

Learner drivers must have been doing hill-starts at the top of Berners Street since time began.

What a place. I know its not without its knockers but home is always home innit. This is shot way before my time but when I see 1990's pictures of Ipswich it doesn't half bring back memories. Going into Dixons just to check the football scores.

Still too fast for me at 0.25 - I'm going through it frame by frame.

I'll be in a minority, but I do miss the Brutalism of Greyfriars and it's roundabout. Fantastic concrete work on St Clare House.

Roads with tarmac on them, no chunks missing, patching or cones.

Fascinating. I remember you could drive along the side of the docks, and that my father got a dent on the top of his car, when doing so, by something dangling from a crane.

I also remember driving my moped along the docks, with the wheel slipping as it went over the rails.

To be honest, apart from the Willis Faber building, the skyline where Greyfriars once was, the new road layout near the docks and some buildings here and there, not a lot has changed.

And whilst the opening still to the video gives the date as 1960, it must be 1968 because Greyfriars was under construction.

I'm a great fan of Brutalism.

For some reason, I have a memory of returning to a parked car in Greyfriars with my dad in around 1970 after an Ipswich game, when the Lee Marvin song "Wandering Star" was playing.

I also remember my dad denting the side of his car one time when going round and round in circles on the descent from the car park.

For those interested, this is an interesting piece on Greyfriars.

We didn't have a car in 1968, and would have travelled everywhere by bus or train, something which the number of cars in the video suggests was common.

It was only in 1969 that my father first bought a car.

I remember going into the market in Grey friars before they realised people didn't want to walk 400 yards to buy their veg. Then the slight air of menace coming out of Tracys. Never went to Bogarts though.

I was arrested in Tracys after a fight outside Bogarts - Jake the large bouncer at Tracys pointed us out to Police.

There's a bit where it jumps, and I can't work out what road we're on. It's where we start going down Heath Road, it then jumps to this unidentified road, and then suddenly we switch back to going round the St Augustine's roundabout.

The road has left and right bends in it, so it's not Heath Road or Bixley Road, so I'm stumped. Foxhall Road perhaps? It's about 1min 20 in.

I can't work it out either, but I don't think it's Foxhall Road.
