Genuinely interesting. Incredible to think how much money is being invested in the club. “Millions and millions” on a new pitch. 3million spent in the January transfer window. Mind-blowing investment for a L1 club. And what a reaction from fans too; 50,000 shirts sold? Utterly insane.

The millions of pounds invested into the club highlights what an abject state it had been rotting in for years. It’s really exciting reading about all of these projects - it’ll make the club easier to attract newer players, be it established professionals, younger or prospective academy players.

Only thing I'd have preferred is for the patience talk being put out during the blip period.

Most of my frustration was based around the potential of the owners going all M.E and pulling the plug before they lost more money. So to hear that they are behind everything regardless of promotion this season was welcome.

You’re not wrong there!

The Evans era was an unmitigated disaster for the club, on and off the pitch. Gamechanger are doing everything they said they would do, and more.

The contrast is mind boggling frankly.

are you really surprised that if we didn't get up that they'd pull all funding or dwindle it to the bare minimum? That wouldn't make any sense, the only way they make their money back and more is premiership football.

2 years from where this club was is nothing in the grand scheme of things, it was always more than likely to take 2 or 3 years from their take over for us to be in a really good position to get promoted. There was too much behind the scenes that wasn't right and it does take time to correct these things, some clubs might have taken a few shortcuts and got promoted quickly, like Wigan but longer term we are set up better than them if we do get promoted.

and to think a lot of the defense of Evans was that he kept the club going.

There is some credence in that but the club was existing and that's all.

The owners have always said that they aren’t just going to pull out just like that. All of the building work, the transfer work and even the PR work have backed their words up. No shortsightedness was ever on the table.

In terms of ‘patience’, well the owners and MA are not here to bottle feed fans. They are not here to answer or to reassure every single point. They are not nurses nor are they some sort of counselling service. Blips happen, as fans and as adults it’s up to us not to panic at the drop of the hat. And the vast majority didn’t.

A tiny bit I’m still nervously looking at how he left Bristol City. Nice facilities but skint, and we’ve been there at least twice before in our own history.

But, it seems you can’t survive without owner financing and we had Evans building up big debts to achieve sod all. So I suppose it doesn’t matter if we splash a bit of cash as long as it’s sustainable (by that I mean someone is willing to keep funding it, not breaking even each year).

I don’t worry about that enough to spoil the ride though - it’s been a breath of fresh air since the owners and Aston came in. Just reinforces how utterly crap Evans was as a custodian of our club.

I wouldn't say it's a surprise as such no. Its a nice to know however.

Seen some other replies to my post. Some upto their usual tricks on looking to belittle a poster.

However, back to your reply specifically, it wasn't a case of expecting to pull the plug completely if we didn't. But would they become more cautious. And then over time could that then become something worse. The words of steed about less losses more results etc was the main alarm due to him being in control of the actual money. Tbh if steed etc were more Ashton like with the project talk it what else they are doing with the council etc etc it sounds long term. Steeds words just didn't.

BTW. I can see donnie trying to do what he normally does. Not sure exactly what's being put but it's obvious. So donnie just an FYI. Your on ignore like the others. It's made the forum better now that threads aren't turning into arguments between the same posters. So thought I'd let you know incase you wanted to stop wasting your time. :)

I think what’s telling is both on and off the pitch there seems to be clear planning, intent and a genuine will and desire to move the club forward. If Evans hadn’t been so aloof and thoroughly rubbish at running a football club the difference now wouldn’t appear so stark. It’s beyond night and day difference.

I wouldn't expect the club to feel the need to release a statement to reassure a handful of reactionary numpties because we drew a couple of mid season games.

And having heard him this morning, I was certainly left with the feeling that the club is indeed in good hands, and it's a long term plan, with a steep trajectory of reaching various levels of achievement within it.

"Some upto their usual tricks on looking to belittle a poster."

Well no, you do it to yourself. You put it out there, and you have every right to do so as I've always said, but then you have to expect stuff back when you get it wrong. Rather than bleating about bullying, or putting people on ignore (which isn't really debating), either post less of the nonsense or hold your hands up and say "yes lads, I got it wrong again, I'm such a doofus."

For ages my sig has been "Trust the process." Before that it was "Patience is a virtue." You could probably learn a thing or two from old Dollers, young Frimmers.

Ashton has a lot more money to play with now than he did at Bristol City.

And in fairness to Evans, he DID keep us afloat when we could've gone under - he lost absolute millions of his own money. Yes he made mistakes, but he also didn't have enough wonga (by the end certainly) to do what Gamechanger are doing.

Evans was a terrible owner no doubt, but the game changed and he couldn't keep up. I think people are a little harsh on him, even if I can understand why.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
