I've read your account before when you posted it previously, but I made the time to read it again this morning. A brilliant and devastating piece of writing. Thank you for writing it and thank you for posting it again, and I hope you're doing well.

Yes, I read BL’s account when he first posted it too, I wasn’t sure I needed to read it again but you reminded me that I did. It’s as raw and powerful as the first time I read it.

Agree. It was not something I wanted to read again, but glad I did.

What happened at Hillsborough and Bradford City a few years before should never be forgotten.

Wow! That is so powerful. Thoughts are with you BL and massive respect for keeping the truth out there.

A powerful and incredibly moving piece BL. Thanks for re-posting and I hope today goes as well as it can for you. I can’t get to FPR so will take the kids down to the Swans this afternoon. I expect there will be a silence and if so I’ll be thinking of this.

You under play it a bit still BL, it's an incredible read.

Hillsborough is one of the biggest stains on our history and it's shameful that truth took so long to come out, the cover up, the police closing ranks and protecting their own.

Are you still in touch with your mates that you went with?

Corrupt, corrupt from the bottom to the top as the Levellers sang a few years later… not in reference to Hillsborough, but to another injustice of the time.

Thanks for re-posting mate, it's had an even bigger effect on me today than it did several years ago when I first read it. Keep fighting, keep talking.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Many thanks BL for enlightening me, and others on here, as to the lies that I had for too many years believed, your account is a powerful piece of work and a very good account of what actually took place. It has not quite been the justice that we all wanted, but hopefully knowing that the truth has been told and acknowledged, can help process the awful memories for everyone affected by the Hillsborough tragedy and put them behind you as much as possible.

I had not read your blog before. That is some account, and very educational. Thanks for sharing, and I just hope that you can deal with the dark moments better as time goes on.

Hey Lagos, I hope yesterday was as pain free as it could be and that you managed to enjoy the result at PR.

Always so emotional reading that. IIRC you have also posted about the post match actions of SYP.

That was the blog of my interview with the WMP

http://ahillsboroughsurvivor.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-interview-with-wmscs.html?

And of all of the SYP - this bloke I think is the one I have the most contempt for. As I said to his face at the time and would do so again - utter scum.

Cheers for all the comments guys.

April 15th is always a tough day, though it's fair to say that after 90 minutes of total football yesterday, it was nice to be in a good place enjoying the football at Portman Rd :-)

No. Neil (the lad who got the tickets) got in touch after the verdicts (via a journo after he saw me on the beeb) and told me Mike was working in Dubai.

Did see Gill a few times randomly when on holiday - but lost touch.

Now I socialise with a few other scallies who I met through the various campaigns - meet up for a pint in London 3 - 4 times a year.
