Agree, was just going to write something similar. I think it would be better to consolidate, spend a season or two building a good squad at Championship level and then push for promotion. Look what happened to our feathered friends when they had back to back promotions from L1 to Prem. |  |

Whereas Southampton had 11 seasons in a row in the top flight after back to back promotions. Think the too early reference had more to do with Bonne being offside a lot than consolidation in Championship. [Post edited 15 May 2023 15:04]

Hmmm, they’ve had a degree of success and stability since then that we’ve only been able to dream about for the last 20 years! They’ve done OK, though I’m hopeful that the wheels may just be coming off thier open top bus. | |
