Ben Brereton Diaz

Crazy:

"After noticing he was half Chilean whilst playing Football Manager, a group of fans began a social media campaign to get Brereton Díaz picked for Chile.[30] This was subsequently picked up by the national media and on 24 May 2021, Brereton Díaz was called up to the Chile squad for the first time by manager Martín Lasarte for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Bolivia.[31] He was subsequently included in Chile's squad for 2021 Copa América[32] and on 14 June made his debut for Chile when he came off the bench against Argentina in a 1—1 draw.[33] On 18 June, he was handed his first start as he scored his first international goal for La Roja, against Bolivia in a 1—0 win."

I'm sure I saw Joel Piroe mentioned recently. In the same bracket as Gyökeres for me - you'd think they'd attract interest from parachute payment-rich clubs at worst, poss even lower end PL. But then we seemed to over-reach for L1, so who knows what's in store for us.

Was talking to a chap in a pub in Stowmarket on Saturday. Introduced himself as a big Town fan and a shareholder for many years as his wife was something vaguely to do with the Cobbold family. Told me he had a little inside knowledge and said we were in talks with 2 Premier league players, or recent premier league players at least. All reasonably plausible so far. Then he said that he knew 'for a fact' one of the players was Jamie Vardy. I nearly spat my beer out laughing. I know we've signed the odd senior figure over recent years (e.g Keogh, Aluko), but someone who's career is pretty clearly on the wane like Vardy who's supposedly on £140,000 a week, is hardly someone who fits the profile of the players we're likely to sign

I’m hoping for an Ashton masterclass with Edwards, very similar to how he signed Webster off us at Bristol City!

Not a chance, in my opinion. He’s almost guaranteed to go to a big Premier League club, I saw Chelsea were sniffing around last Summer with bids circa £10 million, West Ham the latest ones I’ve seen.

Would be ecstatic to be proven wrong.

Not sure that he would be "Fully aligned with the brand values of Gamechanger Inc".

Or willing to take a 75% pay cut.

Someone will take him. But before we get on our moral high horse: Lee Bowyer.
