Should Hirst have buried the Chaplin chip that hit the bar? on 08:53 - Sep 20 with 3369 views | textbackup | Great block from the defender. The one that really got me was Burns going for that with the outside of his right boot, painfully wasteful

Cut in beautifully onto his left then tried that shot with his right, strange decision!
Should Hirst have buried the Chaplin chip that hit the bar? on 09:18 - Sep 20 with 3192 views | Swansea_Blue | Should have done better imo. He had quite a target to aim for. Luckily it didn't affect anything though, so all good.

Chappers has been unlucky not to have another two or three goals. Hirst needs one to go in. It was a good block and it happens to the very top strikers but it was frustrating a) after Chappers' almost sublime effort and b) the goal seemed so open. But keep the faith and vocal support for both and they'll be banging them in. COYFB

Indeed. Looked like a miss on first viewing. But the replay showed how the defender was quick to close him down and in reality was blocking most of the goal.

Should Hirst have buried the Chaplin chip that hit the bar? on 09:55 - Sep 20 with 2981 views | Bluesky | One view from behind goal shows he is completely blocked by defender. Bsrely a quarter chance in a split second of opportunity. Hirst's goals will come - as will Chapper's.

Left foot shot or cut back outside the defender (who he'd taken out of the game beautifully) and a right foot shot were both better options, but no worries.

Should Hirst have buried the Chaplin chip that hit the bar? on 10:48 - Sep 20 with 2803 views | BigCommon | Think those chances can look easier than they actually are from different angles. Way I saw it, he had little time to pick a spot and not much goal to aim at by the time contact was made.As the defender closed him right down. So he had to kind of, snapped at it. When your lucks in, they fly in via a deflection or hit the roof of the net. Seen Burns score plenty of times with the outside of his right boot.So he's entitled to chose that.option if he's more comfortable. Should have hit the target though, regardless which foot he used. Two great away wins at 1-0 each. But I'm sure they'll be having words with each other about the missed chances in both games. By my reckoning, someone's getting battered when we get the run of it, in front of goal...
Should Hirst have buried the Chaplin chip that hit the bar? on 10:53 - Sep 20 with 2758 views | Bluespeed225 | Deffo a good block by the defender. I do think he could have done better with his lob at Wednesday though, waited for it to drop. He'll do alright though by the end of the season.

I hope our manager sees it as a worry, and helps to improve his decision making

If you’re not comfortable using your left in such a clear position then you need to work on that. Or like Quaresma, who pretty much refused to use his left foot, become totally adept and natural at using the outside of the boot even during build-up play.

Really weird. Its not like he can't use his left foot (btw all footballers should be able to use both feet!). It looked awkward too.

Was saying same to a mate. It was like the same sequence although Southampton didn't physically assault Hirst "play on!". Still annoys me. 3-0 against Sunderland against 10 and we cruise no stress. Most stressful game in a long time that.

Yes all footballers should be able to use both feet! Perhaps if they were proficient on both feet they wouldn’t be playing for Ipswich, I remember somebody once saying if Curry had pace he would have played for England. He had no pace but a great footballing brain, that’s why he played for us!!!!

You mean like Muhren and Thyssen and John Barnes and the great Maradona! Plenty of brilliant one footed players so don’t think we can be too sweeping in saying every player should be 2 footed.
