Life is hard and sh*t enough as it is. Some people have been going over the top but anyone expressing the slightest bit of hurt about all of this just gets shut down or insulted.
I know my presence on here doesn’t matter, but it’s a safe space for me and it’s just full of such anger, it’s enough to add to the reasons to pack this life in.
Please can people start being kind and allow others to process emotions in their own way, without calling them wet, or soft, or a fake fan. [Post edited 23 May 2024 22:13]

The issue is that a lot of it is coming out as rage - against the club and McKenna in particular. Some of us feel the need to defend them against the worst excesses of that.

Appreciate and understand your point, but I do draw the line at some people publicly disrespecting, misrepresenting, and just downright insulting KM after all he’s done for us. No-one deserves such judgemental comments on the basis of zero evidence or actual insight as to the real situation. |  |

I think this forum serves as a safe space and a bit of an escape for a lot of us, and for those of us overseas it helps to give us a lifeline to the ITFC community that we'd otherwise be cut off from. Wouldn't want anyone to feel they're losing that.
At the same time, sometimes it feels like people just need to given a bit of a shake so they can come back to their senses. Absolutely barmy how a few have reacted to the speculation around McKenna's future, and if people vent their emotions here by saying some really silly things, then they're probably going to be told how silly they're being.
Like, it feels as though some are angrier at McKenna, who has just given us the best couple of years in decades, than they ever were at the string of managers that oversaw absolute dross as we slumbered our way down to the third tier. He's not even left us yet! |  |

I highly recommend going on to the ‘General’ side of the board only. It’s made the place useable again, if a little quiet. Quiet’s good though after the spamming of the last few days.
I’m not on other social media - is Twitter and Facebook, etc., as bad as on here? It’s embarrassing. I can’t think of another word to describe it. I’m embarrassed for those losing the plot.

Agree really - it's obviously an emotive issue and while there some slightly outlandish and OTT things being said I don't think it's necessary for several people to jump in calling them a bedwetter or whatever.
Not restricted to this forum or to this issue but there's a fair bit of people who assume their position is the correct one and anyone else thinking otherwise needs to be shut down and/or insulted as you say.
As this is an issue which affects everyone I don't think it's really fair to dismiss any fan's opinion on it really, even if their position is a bit extreme. |  |

Or, indeed, reviling and insulting the man who has got the team doubly promoted when we do not yet know the full picture. Seems to me it's McKenna being courted by these clubs, not the other way around.
