Iain Dale 12:24 - May 30 with 2740 views | DJR | I quite like Iain Dale, and note that he has given up his LBC radio show to try to become the Conservative candidate for Tunbridge Wells. Tunbridge Wells was the only place in Kent to vote remain, its council is controlled by the Lib Dems, and it strikes me that there is a good chance that the seat will fall to the Lib Dems in the upcoming election. He lives there but has perhaps done his chances no good by saying in the past that he never liked the place, a view shared by my mother who lived there for six years before her death. https://bylinetimes.com/2024/05/29/iain-dale-conservatives-tunbridge-wells-lbc-n
Iain Dale on 12:52 - May 30 with 2596 views | itfcjoe | It seems a strange seat to go for, but understandable as he lives there - but think he'd have been better off in Norfolk where he has always had a home as well

I didn't know he had a home there, but I think you're right.

It's currently on the market if what he has said on his LBC show is true, but think it is his 'home' with his partner based in TW where they live most of the time

But then I suppose his bias cancels out that of O'Brien (who I'm also not a fan of, even though he's more aligned to my values). I struggle with all these talk show hosts. Not keen on Vine or Campbell. I can just about put up with Nihal Arthanayake when he's on, but his style also annoys me. The Today programme also annoys me. I think I must be easily annoyed lol Dale's obvious bias all through the whole Brexit bollox drove me up the wall. Absolutely no surprise to see him running for the Tories.

Iain Dale on 14:37 - May 30 with 2320 views | bluelagos | He published Norman Bettison's autobiography (no one else would touch it) a few years back. I don't subscribe to cancel culture - but giving a voice to a scumy c**nt like Bettison does make Dale a bit of a w*nker in my book.

What do you mean "no surprise to see him running for the Tories", he stood as the Tory candidate for North Norfolk over 20 years ago

I didn't know that, but that's no surprise either!

Iain Dale on 15:22 - May 30 with 2201 views | tcblue | He (Dale) had to be taught what a lot of the basics of Brexit actually meant (after the vote), is standing in the one part of Kent which voted remain AND only a few years ago was very public about how he only lived in TW because his partner was from there (and would love to leave). And lost miserably. He was my politics teacher's local Tory mentor. Ballbag of a man.

I have to agree with this. Apart from attacking an OAP demonstrator and flouncing out of a GMTV segment I really can't believe he gives a monkeys about the people of TW, or anyone else for that matter, and it's just another self aggrandising stunt. Horrible bloke. [Post edited 30 May 2024 15:53]

Iain Dale on 16:53 - May 30 with 1978 views | DJR | My observation on Iain Dale related to him as a presenter because I think he is good at it and has a nice manner about him. He certainly doesn't conform to the stereotype of a West Ham supporter. [Post edited 30 May 2024 16:55]

He's on Ferrari's show right now. Seems he has pulled out due to his previous radio comment about how he wasn't keen on Tunbridge Wells.

I like the bits where Nihal asks a question really slowly with Emphasis On Each Word Because He Clearly Hadn't Thought About What He Was Going To Ask When He Began The Question But Instead Began By Making A Point And Then Realised That He Is Supposed To Ask A Question And Ends By Saying Something Like Do you think that has something to do with why you just said that?

You'd be surprised - the guy who took Iain dale's show had a caller on last night claiming to be wealthy enough to send his kids to private school & to be affected by a potential wealth tax, arguing in favour of a wealth tax / putting Starmer down for being timid. Such people can be Labour.
