Many of the same posters involved as usual. Really getting very sick of it, got other things to do other than deal with that sort of nonsense day after day. Think this can be taken as a final warning that the kind of deliberate pressing people's buttons, winding up, piling on etc which has gone on over the last couple of days will mean posters are no longer welcome.

I'll meet you behind the bike sheds Phil, I have a couple of things in stock that will help relax things a bit.

Thought there was some good discussion on there until some sniping started.

I'm not sure it is very grown up to insinuate that Phil has a BDSM fetish, fuzzy padlocks or otherwise

I didn't see the demise of that thread so don't know the ins and outs of it. But can you not just issue imaginary yellow cards to those you believe to be the culprits?

Next time they cross the line red card and a months suspension.

2 red cards and gone for good

You shouldn't have to do it but at least you will get some peace and can get on with whatever you need to do in the real world

Fully-entitled to ban them - there have been warnings aplenty, but even those are generous.

People know they’re on the wind up. It’s all very deliberate and conscious, so there can’t be any complaints or excuse.

Just go full twitter and get rid of editing, except for those who buy a monthly subscription.

Just wipe their accounts. No loss. I enjoy TWTD for football matters and use your news bulletins above any other ITFC media. Adults can have sensible debates and even disagree without being personal on the forum.

Unfortunately, that's not the best idea imo as you will only then get people copying and pasting the original post.

I don't personally see especially in that thread that that would have helped anyway, both posters who edited their posts, held their hands up about the original posts, so i don't see how showing the original posts would have helped with how that thread degressed.

That's all very well, but could be a lot of extra work for Gav?

Some sites put a time limit as to how long after posting, authors are permitted to edit - say 5 minutes? Might be less work for Gv? (dunno myself, am no techie).

Meanwhile, it's the hypocrisy that really gets me - those who piously plead for decency one minute; then a minute later are deliberately posting something derogatory about someone.

Thing is, I suspect who you see as being the usual suspects may be different from who others (including Phil potentially) view as being the usual suspects.

There’s not much need.

Sometimes people edit because they’re asked too by boss man, keeping the original up would just throw more fuel on the fire.

On that thread earlier, edits were clarified and explained, so there was no problem with that.

There was no re writing of the narrative.

First ban 3 months
Second ban 6 Months
3rd ban 1 year
4th ban, sneaking back on here under a different username whilst banned, and serious abuse, libel etc life ban

Without wanting to open up any debate and cause Phil to delete another thread, Ithink that a lot of fractiousness on here has been low level rather than the vicious nastiness we’ve seen in the past involving libel , posts aimed at peoples family members, homophobia, racism, threats of violence etc. Basically it’s been schoolyard stuff.

I changed an avatar because I knew it would wind a certain poster up. That was childish and wrong. Posters are getting threads removed because they have referred to women as “birds” or “chicks”. Not the sort of language I would use (I have in the past) but really not the sort of thing that people need to trouble admin over just to score a point against another poster.

There have been far too many instances of needless low level sniping of which some of us have been guilty of. Perhaps we could all make an effort to not engage in it or report silly harmless stuff to admin.

Edit. I’ll also throw in using downvotes just because you don’t like a poster. Two posters could make identical posts but you just know that one of those posts is going to be downvoted and not the other simply based in who posted it. Perhaps downvotes could be limited?
