Palace on paper you’d think favourites? Everton seems a risk. You’d think we’d be underdogs here wouldn’t you. Who knows what we have offered. You’d think he’d get first team football at all three clubs.

KM preffered us over Cr@P suspect he is not alone Being wanted is also a good motivation and KM has consistently wanted him

Are they looking for a 15m CB too though? Everton are an FFP risk and we're able to offer a very preferable deal structure re:Village sell on if neither of the other two are in for a CB.

We can't forget the KM effect - I bet a bunch of players will make their decision based on McKenna's pedigree. Also, we're high up in the PL for the manager longevity stakes: Ipswich - McKenna - December 2021 Everton - Dyche - January 2023 Palace - Glasner - 2024 Given Everton's FRP weirdness, I would say there is a lot of reasons why a player would chose town over the others.

Thought Dyche was on his way out with new ownership?

Suspect it’s why Town are trying to get a deal done quickly for them both.

About right this id say. Hence palace favourites, if reports are accurate, which we have no reason to think there’re not. Edit. Couldn’t find any real mention of Philogene on their forums. Although struggle with some of them. You certainly appreciate here when you look around at what other clubs have got.. [Post edited 4 Jul 2024 7:00]

Also a familiar face in Greaves as well would be nice. Doesn’t sound like we will be waiting long in this one.

You're probably right about Palace being favourites, but as an old git, I find it hard to accept that Palace would be a bigger, and thus more attractive proposition than Ipswich.
Philogene latest on 08:12 - Jul 4 with 4668 views | wkj | Phil will tell me off if he see this as we dispute the facts... The last time we tried a double swoop, we ended up with Paul Taylor, the other was supposed to be George Boyd £1.75m for the pair of them, but with the majority supposedly for Taylor. My memory says the fee we were supposedly lining up for them was almost all spent on Taylor. I hope we land both of them in the Hull bid, and that they are much better than Paul Taylor. Deal for Posh Pair Falls Through 29th Aug 2012 23:01Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that George Boyd and Paul Taylor have turned down their proposed move to Town. The pair were at Portman Road this afternoon and underwent medicals but were unable to agree personal terms. 260 Town Confirm Taylor Signing 30th Aug 2012 22:55Town have confirmed the signing of striker Paul Taylor from Peterborough United. The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a three—year deal. 65

Money being vaguely equal, I just fancy McKenna being the key factor and more persuasive than Glasner when it comes down to it and he's talked through how we plan to use him and develop him. He knows he is a long term target here as well. [Post edited 4 Jul 2024 8:53]

Hope so but not convinced. Palace look like they have the potential to do something pretty special over the next few years.

It's a tricky one. He could look at Olise coming from Reading and going to Bayern and Eze playing for England and Zaha and see them as a perfect club for him to develop at, reasonably safe, known for their flair players. Or Palace and Everton could offer him more money and we are done if that's his main motivation. But the bit of me hoping is that we target certain characters that are intelligent and pick clubs for the right reasons. Philogene is a few weeks off 3,000 Town fans at Hull, seeing what Omari (a mate of his) did and how he developed under McKenna, knowing the ambition of this club, the fan base and that he will, unlike Palace possibly, start every week if he's playing well and may pick us.
