No idea, I was one that wanted him, but having sat down and looked at it in a bit more depth, he's incredibly close to Taylor in terms of attributes.
Taylor didn't have the run in the team he did either for that consistency overall. Taylor much lower risk to stick with.

I'd imagine there were a lot on 'the list' that we never firmed any interest in.
But on this board, (for example from the tone of the OP, although they aren't alone), you'd think we'd made firm moves for him, and I have no recollection of that ever happening, in fact I've no memory of anything other than idle chat. | |

We simply ain’t going to get some of the players we are targeting. We are aiming high, this is a good thing, but it brings its own issues. If deals were easy you’d have to ask why. It’s gone very quiet for a long time now. The OP cry’s out frustration to me. Knowing who we have at the helm of the club should give people the confidence that we have people who, 1 know what they’re doing, 2 will do the best for the club. Wouldn’t surprise me if a we start to see some movement this weekend. The window seems to be really picking up now. [Post edited 9 Aug 2024 16:58]

20 million is not a silly asking price at all.
He is pure class and their best player by miles. They are fancied by many to push for top 2 this year, if he goes, those chances get very slim. |  |
