The GK one is interesting, as it seems that they may need to tick a few boxes:

Home-grown
Happy to come and not play
Still of decent-enough quality that they could do a job if called upon
Not already fulfilling the same role at another PL club

Most of the half-decent obvious shouts are already at the likes of Spurs/City/United/Newcastle, so it may be someone like Karl Darlow from Leeds?

I wonder if, as the options for this work-around get snapped up, we might start seeing GKs that tick these boxes starting to change hands for seven-figure sums in future seasons.

Feel a bit sorry for Taylor. Brought in to play in a team consolidating our Championship status, he's nowhere near a Premier League player. I thought we may loan him out but he's not going to get any better is he?

I’m not sure that we will buy or loan anyone simply to act as cover. Anyone that comes here will be an improvement to the players we already have.

I think that you are right regarding Taylor and the same could be said of Gassan Ahadme. The rapid rise of the club has been brilliant but maybe it’s sort of wrong-footed Town’s long-term thinking regarding those players.

But once a club is in the PL, if they are serious about staying there then some ruthless decisions need to be made.

Agree on Taylor but Ahadme always felt like a panic signing when we couldn't get our primary targets.
