Not really sure it should be my job to deal with all that on what's ostensibly a football forum.

Removed thread on 11:16 - Nov 15 with 8768 views | wkj | I bit, and I admit that I bit - but what is so hard about getting this subsection of the forum nipped in the bud? The needling keeps happening, the accusations keep happening, and at the heart of it is a chain reaction of reactions that almost openly takes the Michael. Making false accusations about people shouldn't be a slap on the wrist, it should be a kick in the arse. It adds nothing, but the weekly peeing contest being bought to a head with people giving your post uppies (or is quick to leave jovial quips in the replies) to try and distance themselves as the main cast of the tragedy. Seeing people trying to exploit others into a reaction is almost as transparent as cling film, but the thing about cling film is that it is single use and gets thrown in the bin when it is has done it's job. I am happy to admit that I am no angel, but I am not vindictive. What is happening on these pulled threads is people are getting away with being vindictive and having their blushes spared by the threads being taken down. I hate to say it, but post deletion ends up enticing people more than it deters them, especially if they believe that having something deleted benefits their own TWTDcred. Some threads are posted to be inflammatory, the idea that it’s okay for some people to get a kicking because of the disgusting actions for others doesn’t sit well with me. See also the one regarding Prince William (that was deeply unpleasant even as someone with strong Republican leanings). Trolls gonna troll.

Not sure but reckon we could make a game of Cluedo with a small number of suspects and an equally small amount of topics with a few weapons being the insults. Despite the repeated pleas for them to stop they won’t (all of them). As long as they are all allowed to post this will keep happening

I wasn't trolling,I gave my reasons. You can be offended on behalf of Prince William if you please. I'm offended by him taking money from the NHS when it's in crisis and family members are receiving less than adequate care. Did you report the post to admin?

Your first post on this thread was simply putting the boot in and a very thinly disguised attempt at stirring. As skm said, the skirmishes are mostly caused by a poster being deliberately provocative or edgy to provoke a reaction, and then crying foul when they rightly get negative replies. 99% of sh1tstorm threads that Phil has to delete begin this way.

Didn't see what happened after ft for the international, but can imagine. Same old same old futile arguments on the eternal M East conflict, feels like it's being conducted by proxy on here - and always the same couple of people kicking off new threads, on what feels like an almost daily basis. As the same arguments always tediously shoot round the same inevitable circle, here's an idea for Phil - just lock an old one at around page3, then pin it, so everyone looking for an argument on the subject can just re-read what's been said 1,000 x before & save themselves & everyone else the time & trouble of doing it for the1,0001th time.

Completely agree with locking a thread feather than deleting it. Then people who express abhorrent views have to own them. You made a wise decision to leave the thread when you did. As did I. You can only answer the same points again and again.

I was at a lecture last evening at Glasgow Caledonian University given by Dr Jon Roozenbeek, who specialises in digital misinformation. Some of the stuff he was highlighting is what we see on here from the same posters on the same subject. Very interesting stuff.

Perhaps you're right, they threads degenerate into the same people making the same accusations at other users time after time after about the third page and others just joining in to poke people. I do think those people who want to spend their time arguing about the Middle East really ought to take it elsewhere as I think most of us are fed up with it dominating.
