I have Star Wars questions on 12:03 - Dec 8 by MattinLondon
Not all of the newer films are rubbish - Rogue One, is quite good.
If you’re going to watch all of the films then you might as well watch them in the order that they are set.
Through a friend who worked at Disney at the time, I went to the media screening of Rogue One. At the end the reviewer next to me said, “Well, there’s obviously not going to be a sequel…”
Um.. Star Wars (Episode 4) it literally leads directly into Star Wars.

forget about the prequels and watch andor instead, new series soon, and it's very good
Andor is very good and I did think parts of Obi-Wan was great (ruined by some lazy writing and awful child acting).
On the whole, and this will never happen, I do think that Disney should hold is hands up and admit that most of its Star Wars live action content has been poor and declare most of it non-cannon and start again.

I've never managed to get into Star Wars, even though the original one was first movie i seen in cinema as a kid.
I do like the 1 with those little furry Ewok things. But can't help but think if these tiny little furry things, with their basic stone age weaponry can hold their own against the full force of the Empire. Shouldn't the so called Rebel Alliance be giving it a better shot?

Have you seen them before? If you haven't you might as well just go in the order they were set. Please don't skip Rogue One(but you're okay to skip Solo)
Watch them in the order they were originally released but also leave the same gap in time between films otherwise you won't feel the benefit.
So watch Star Wars - A New Hope first then wait 3 years, then watch Empire, wait 3 more years to Return Jedi, then wait 16 years before Phantom, etc you get the idea.

If you want to watch everything in order, including the TV shows and the spin offs (but not the cartoons) then it's:
The Acolyte ( TV Series) (I wouldn't bother. Completely irrelevant and not very good)
The Phantom Menace*
Attack of the Clones*
Revenge of the Sith* (The best of the prequel films imo)
Solo*
Obi-Wan Kenobi* (TV Series)
Andor (TV Series) (Very good but it's still going so incomplete)
Rogue One* (The best spin off movie. As good as the three original movies imo)
A New Hope*
Empire Strikes Back*
Return of the Jedi*
The Mandalorian (TV Series) (Again, still being made so it's incomplete)
The Book of Boba Fett (TV Series) (A bit rubbish imo)
Ahsoka (TV Series)
Skeleton Crew (TV Series) (Only 2 episodes released so far so again incomplete)
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
The Rise of Skywalker
I've put an asterisk next to the only one you really need to watch. All available on Disney+.
IMO the final three films should be consigned to the dustbin and ruin the Skywalker story.

I think the asterisks are pretty fair. I'd probably put an asterisk next to Andor as well though.
One thing I'd add is that the cartoons do provide some essential background (IMO) to later live action series.
Clone wars has a significant amount of info for Mandalorian and Ahsoka. I like later series, but the first series of Clone Wars, Ashoka is the most annoying character in the history of animation AFAIK.
Rebels is important for Ashoka. Bit of background for Mandalorian, but not as essential. Again, starts poorly, but ends better.
Bad Batch is mostly supporting the new trilogy and providing a continuation of the clone wars. While I like this show (except for the accent, IYKYK), I'd happily pretend the new trilogy doesn't exist so definitely not essential viewing.

I can only imagine the lack of reply indicates that Star Wars fans are happy with the 2nd rate performance of the 'rebel alliance' and are willing to happy clap them to oblivion?
If they had hearts half the size of Ewoks they'd have Darth and his mates put to the sword/light saber some time ago.

The Orville is very enjoyable TBF. Might as well throw in TNG while you're at it!
I saw a comment from one of the 'old TNG' cast (might have been Johnathon Franks) to the effect that The Orville was the series the Star Trek franchise should have made rather than some of the ones they did
