....women's football, which admittedly is infrequent, about 75% of the goals seem to come from goalkeeper errors.

They seem to just have to kick it towards the goal and bingo!

I'll make an assumption it's the same today.

It really seems to be an issue in the women's game, not sure how they can address it though.

...the standard of goalkeeping, not the football in general.

Doesn't really merit another thread.

Don't need this assessment of quality every time there is a post on ITFC women's football.

An update on our score doesn't merit your insights into the quality of women's goalkeeping.

The general consensus amongst women who play, albeit at amateur level, is that the goals and pitches should be smaller.

Seems odd for you to use the word 'pure'.

Is it possible to use Bloots and pure in the same sentence?

Nope.

...a different game though, which isn't ideal.

The solution is probably more around better development from an early age.

I assume it will change in time.

Anyway, it wasn't a dig, it was an observation.

I'll go and watch the goals to see if it holds any water.

Am I right in thinking that it's one club down from the 11 club Championship this season and one up from each of the Northern and Southern (Towen) Premier Divisions, to make up to a 12 club Championship next season?

No we don't talk about the quality of goalkeeping in the men's game after every goal, we talk about our quality or the opponents quality of goalkeeping in relation to specific incidents.

You didn't "assess the quality of the women's team, when a goal was scored". You freely said you had no clue what happened in the game and didn't know there was a goalkeeping error. You had no intent on discussing it.You were just making an unnecessary judgement on the basis of not watching this game or the women's game much.

"I'll make an assumption it's [the quality of women's goalkeeping was poor] the same today." - This is a dig and you are being a coward for backtracking.

I don't care if you believe it holds any water in this game. You've made your position clear. You don't watch women's football much and you are here to belittle it.

My first time watching them today, and it was a slightly odd game really.

We were so much better than Plymouth that the game was at no stage competitive, and yet we struggled to really put the game to bed, missing a number of decent chances and failing to create chances from decent openings.

Peskett and Rutherford looked very good players for us, and looked a level above most of the rest.

No idea what level the Championship is compared to this level, but we're clearly far too good a team in this league.

My first time watching. I prefer the edge of the atmosphere at a men's game and - to use a modern parlance that I despise but best describes it - I am more 'invested' in the men's game because its what I've grown up with, but I enjoyed this. Atmosphere was nice, there was some good football. It's different from the men's game, but they're not playing the men, so that doesn't matter. They do seem too good for this division though, so hopefully this'll be the year they go up.
