It depends on how you view abortion / termination of pregnancy and the stage at which the decision is made. It's "mental" as the subject is rarely considered a socially acceptable topic of conversation, so not widely discussed. I think it is probably not that unusual for people to have had to go through multiple terminations out of choice.
It's also worth noting that the commentary and view from Lily Allen changed as she got older, she says so - without doubt there's a maturity element in there.
From a different viewpoint, take the emotion out of it and view it statistically, assuming a female is fertile abd s3xually active from the age of 15 until say 40, that's 25 years of a monthly cycle, so a total of around 300 eggs. 4 or 5 out of 300 is less than 2%. |  | | |

Guess we all have non-rational feelings around abortion, hard not to when you've seen partners carry babies to term or had friends experience miscarriage. We all know what it's like to feel attached to a foetus before it's born.
And, of course, those of us old enough to grow up back in the last century also have a bunch of programming around what society told us women should/should not do with the bodies and in terms of their sex lives, which probably contributes to our instincts here. | |

I agree. Abortion makes me uncomfortable and five seems like a lot. At the end of the day though my opinion is irrelevant and I think a woman only has to 'justify' it to herself. |  |

I can understand an abortion on the grounds of safety or rape or breakdown of a relationship.
