sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 15:22 - Jul 3 with 3190 views | jayessess | Doesn't strike me as a particularly efficient way to manage your fertility, but I can't see that "1 is fine, but 5 is too many" is a position that makes much philosophical sense. Either it's "her body, her choice" and accepting that women get to define what they think and feel about the foetus(es) they'r carrying or it isn't.

sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 15:26 - Jul 3 with 3159 views | bsw72 | It depends on how you view abortion / termination of pregnancy and the stage at which the decision is made. It's "mental" as the subject is rarely considered a socially acceptable topic of conversation, so not widely discussed. I think it is probably not that unusual for people to have had to go through multiple terminations out of choice. It's also worth noting that the commentary and view from Lily Allen changed as she got older, she says so - without doubt there's a maturity element in there. From a different viewpoint, take the emotion out of it and view it statistically, assuming a female is fertile abd s3xually active from the age of 15 until say 40, that's 25 years of a monthly cycle, so a total of around 300 eggs. 4 or 5 out of 300 is less than 2%.

What you say makes a lot of sense and is hard to argue with. "I can't see that "1 is fine, but 5 is too many" is a position that makes much philosophical sense." Intellectually* you're absolutely right, but on a feelings level, something just doesn't right with that and I can't tell you why. *stop sniggering.

Guess we all have non-rational feelings around abortion, hard not to when you've seen partners carry babies to term or had friends experience miscarriage. We all know what it's like to feel attached to a foetus before it's born. And, of course, those of us old enough to grow up back in the last century also have a bunch of programming around what society told us women should/should not do with the bodies and in terms of their sex lives, which probably contributes to our instincts here.

I agree. Abortion makes me uncomfortable and five seems like a lot. At the end of the day though my opinion is irrelevant and I think a woman only has to 'justify' it to herself.

sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 15:55 - Jul 3 with 2960 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Not anti abortion in any sense whatsoever. It doesn't strike me as a particularly effective method of contraception though. There must have been easier options available before she had the coil fitted?

sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 15:58 - Jul 3 with 2939 views | MattinLondon | Of course she remembers how many abortions she’s had - by saying that she can’t remember she’s just being…..well I don’t know what the right word is in this case. Before I had kids I was always adamant that abortion was a woman’s choice but since having them I’m not as adamant but still in that camp. I know it makes little sense - just leaves me with a sense of coldness.

She has a wild history of making wild claims about her life which haven't uhh,.been verified. I'm not saying that to be a d1ck. She does suffer from mental health issues

sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 17:12 - Jul 3 with 2550 views | Vic | Im not sure where we are about having different opinions on here at the moment. But as a pro lifer It looks like I'll be in the minority! Please don't crucify me for having a different opinion but I struggle to get my head around how it can be so normal to have abortions after the baby has a heartbeat. I'm not judging those who do it, but just want to registr that other views exist.

Of course there will be differing views on this issue as this very subject is highly sensitive. And no one will crucify you. However, I have issues with anyone who uses this topic just to court controversy- which is what that poster did and does. At best it’s insensitive but it’s just pathetic. If people want to be edgy then they should stick to whether Kuqi was better than Pablo - he wasn’t.
sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 18:45 - Jul 3 with 2259 views | flykickingbybgunn | I can understand an abortion on the grounds of safety or rape or breakdown of a relationship. But to use it as a method of contraception in effect has to be wrong. It is a flagrant disregard of human life. I am not a religious person but this just feels to be wrong.

I know that in Footie terms he's a wrong'un, but i didnt take the OP as trying to be edgy. I read it as commenting on a news item with a perspnal take on it. I reckon thats still allowed.

There’s a poster on here who is a budgie but comes across as a decent chap. I think that Chico is a Town fan but he seems to take great delight in being a bell end.

Does he? Stow’s always been a much liked poster hasn’t he? What’s going on recently! Re: LA, it is irresponsible from a health point of view (her’s) and from an NHS perspective (unless she went private) but it’s her body, her choice, her right. She also exhibited maturity and growth when reflecting - she was a well known ‘wild child’ before.
