The thing I don't like about tennis (but those who like it do) is that you can't be sure when a game is over.
If someone is 2 sets up and 5-1 up, the last thing I want is a five setter because the opponent turns it round.
The only exception to this would be if I supported a player who was losing, but there are very few I do.
Of course, tennis fans would no doubt regard me as a Philistine. [Post edited 6 Jul 16:42]

The point I was trying to make (perhaps badly) is that most games I like have a fixed period (say, 90 minutes in football) but you can't be sure how long a tennis game will last, and I don't really like it enough to sit through a five setter. | | | |

Used to find it enjoyable when you had McEnroe, Nastase, Billy Jean King etc. Now I find it boring as hell. Well I don't actually as I don't watch it.
Paying for something that's wall to wall that I don't watch is a p*ss take and I told the Beeb so, but all I got back was that some people like it.
What other sport has it shown for two weeks solid day and night for two weeks.
Yes there are people who enjoy it, but why put it on the main channel. Horse racing is very rarely on a main channel and the Beeb managed to lose both racing and test cricket, both of which they were excellent at. |  | | |

The only sport where you can spend hundreds of pounds for a ticket, and it could all be over in under thirty seconds. Even a thumping at football has to last ninety minutes for example.
The only situation that I can think of that would come close is on a one day cricket match where a team has to score a single run to win, having only taken ten balls to get the other team out. |  | | |
