There's always this uncertainty for me over what the investment firms endgame is. But also, who could buy at that price? [Post edited 9 Jul 12:02]

It’s an investment firm - the end game is to make a profit and they’ve 7x’d their initial investment. If they’re going to sell it will almost certainly be to a similar company/consortium - potentially bright path. I’d be slightly surprised if they did sell however given the holding period of ~5 years is quite short, most of these funds have a 7-10 yr time horizon. But would make sense to perhaps cash in a few more chips at this valuation. So perhaps they sell another block of equity vs full sale as you say.

Maybe they don't have the cash to run things as we are now, grown too quickly for them - so they can expedite their timeline, make a good chunk of money and let the deeper pockets of Brightpath [who are paying for everything as it is] get more control.

Owners had enough? on 12:39 - Jul 9 with 7032 views | IP1Blue | If they were looking for a takeover then that price is too high right now however this could be the the beginning of them looking for an exit and over time they will reduce there asking price until they receive an offer worth accepting for them which maybe a few years which was in there original timeline.

Possible but perhaps unlikely given the pension fund has new capital needing to be allocated coming in all the time. I suspect their motives, if true, are: a) sell another chunk at current valuation to hedge the downside of potential non promotion and/or b) they probably want a partial/full exit without having to mess about building new stands or do more infra projects having already got a 7x return (if they find a buyer to meet their valuation). My two pence is they probably won't find a buyer at current valuation given the risk of non promotion. Private markets and M&A environment as a whole is pretty horrible at the moment too. As a side note - If there is a new buyer, I would expect them to follow the Wrexham model and have more celebrity endorsements and a streaming doc etc lined up. People I know in the "sports" business seem to think that's where the revenue growth is. There is a consortium trying to buy Tranmere atm for example which Rihanna is part of and has already got a documentary lined up if they're successful in purchasing the club. I’m not sure how much of a market there is for more sports docs with a celebrity angle. Wrexham has succeeded because it’s genuine; anything else that happens now at Tranmere or elsewhere will just be seen for what it is: copycat attempt to cash in.

But what if Rihanna is installed as Tranmere's Manager?
Owners had enough? on 13:14 - Jul 9 with 6234 views | Matt_Netherlands | Im sceptic about much truth in this…. But if there was, is there anyone who has come in as an investor over the last two years who could buy out the majority owner Americans? Was it Bright Path capital who came in? Seen to remember they had quite deep pockets?

EDIT: £100m+ in player sales?? £70m remaining in sales this summer then?! Omari and.... Leif?! Looks like it's Three Lions/ORG looking to sell up. [Post edited 9 Jul 13:23]

Owners had enough? on 13:14 - Jul 9 with 6216 views | BloomBlue | Price does seem a bit higher, but not too much for a rich oil multi billionaire consortium. Don't want to lose these owners but it was always going to be a short-term money making exercise for them. Selling out to rich oil billionaires would be perfect for everyone.

If that's genuine of course. The £100m player sales will interest a few.

That implies it’s maybe just the three Americans looking to cash out as they’re the Three Lions fund. Surely if the whole club was up for sale it’d be led by Gamechanger as a whole and Bright Path as the majority shareholders.

No, at the valuation it'd be the full 50% controlling stake that the Three Lions/ORG have.

The format and grammar seems a little off. But perhaps that's just how Johnson speaks/writes?

Why on earth would he go to the lengths of not naming the club.... ....and then personally sign off with Brett Johnson, Three Lions Capital?! 🤣🤣 I guess he could be providing a draft for a 3rd party to send out?

Of course it will be distributed via third parties. The types of people/funds/families they are targeting means intermediaries will be par for the course.

As someone who's worked in wealth management for 20-odd years, a lot of the lingo in the "email" is correct. That said, even a bored kid could knock something similar up with the right ChatGPT prompt. Interesting that after all the yap about committing to the area, building the town etc etc, Three Lions are basically running like a hedge fund, such is the 2% amc with a standard 20% kickback over a certain high-water mark. I mean when was the last time Brett streamed himself getting excited about ITFC. That all fizzled out.
