He should slot in nicely next to Bryan Robson.

If we are in the business of having non playing good leaders in the squad, why not drag out John Terry or Bryan Robson? Surely, a fundamental requirement for being in the squad, is playing at top level and being amongst the best, currently, in your position?

Why not just take him as a coach? He doesn't need to take up a squad place to have an influence

He's playing in the premier league to be fair. I actually don't mind it on this occasion, if we take 6 points from these next 2 we're as good as qualified with 4 games left, especially as a trip to Serbia is probably as tough as it gets in this group. After these assuming we take maximum points I'd then leave him out I think, give the experience to younger players to get around the squad ahead of the World Cup.

I'm sure he will get some minutes and be a good option off the bench. If he's still got it then he probably deserves a place. We will soon find out. Is the problem his football or the reaction to him 'betraying' the LGBT community?

If we are relying on aging players to fill leadership spaces, then we have a far bigger problem with the depth of the England squad . . . we should be looking at bringing through the next group of leaders on the pitch. If Henderson was a truly standout footballer (like Ronaldo has proven himself to be) then I could get it, but he has never been a gamechanger, he's been solid and dependable. John Terry? The John Terry who was banned by the FA for using an extreme racial slur against his England Central Defensive partner's brother? That great leader?

We are trying to bring through leaders. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't go to the World Cup at this point given Tuchel's rationale for picking him.

Trust me, I get the concept - but I don't think Henderson needs to fill a squad slot, he can attend to show leadership and we can add other young players into the squad to gain experience. There are leaders in the playing group already if the likes of Declan Rice, Adam Wharton, Reece James, Dan Burns, Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford etc cannot fill the gaps we have a bigger problem.

For years he and John Stones have been a superb centre-half pairing for England. I'll be disappointed if he's not picked for the World Cup.

Its not a case of relying on him, its just about having the right blend of youth and experience in a high pressure environment. Its part of the process for how the next crop learn those skills, to see it in others. People get far too carried away by all this stuff, its a results business ultimately especially in tournament football. Tuchel knows that and its the reason he's been appointed.

A qualifier against a pub team like Andorra isn't exactly high pressure. Serbia away will be a tougher nut, but England should walk this group. I think "experience" is over rated in football - if a player is good enough & physically mature enough, he's old enough.
