First signal of new manager imminent. 10:44 - Jun 15 with 3258 viewsgreyhound

Surely the retained list being released means someone has run a quick rule over those players.

6pm today anyone?

You would think its not far away now. Would be surprised if there is no announcement before the fixture release.

i doubt it, i think the list was sent to the authorities weeks ago, it's just been published today?

….isn’t really giving any clues, or indeed any indication that a deal is imminent.

Odds on OGS have shortened a bit with KK and GON drifting slightly.

The fact the market is still open would suggest we aren’t that close to an appointment, unless it’s a total outsider that’s gone under the radar.

It had to be registered first week of June I think?

It wasn't a case of changing anything over the weekend.

Not sure about that.

When a decision has been made on Wes Burns that's the white smoke moment.

That's been sorted for some while. Was initially told to expect it early last week.

I would pay absolutely no attention to the betting market. I suspect it's pretty likely our future manager isn't even in the first 5 names.

This list was submitted weeks ago. Its not news that Burns or his agent is exploring what available to him as he’s coming to the end of his deal ahead of deciding to stay or go. Chaplin was preempted. Townsend confirmation is news, but not news. Button is news, but not news. No incoming manager will be in the slightest bit interested in the released academy players for the first period of time since they have a big enough job building the first team!

I dont see any relationship other than EFL will be communicating all details probably later this week.

I'm probably reading far much into it, but I thought Ashton's language in his TalkSport interview was interesting. He said "we’ll look at all markets", the 'we will' rather than 'we are' or 'we have' implies it was still a relatively early stage.

Hopefully an announcement is imminent. As it is a big PR moment for the club I am thinking they would prefer to avoid the upcoming England fixture which will eat up all the coverage for a couple of days. My guess would be today or Friday.

I doubt it - the options retained are to enable the club to get a fee.

The players released are not good enough for the PL.

Loan players going back.

Nothing controversial with the retained list with any big devious being left to the incoming manager whenever they might be.

I’ve convinced myself it’s gonna be Dyche. He seems to tick all the boxes.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Ashton knew of McKenna's decision nearly 3 weeks ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if we are way down the line of announcing, I'd imagine he'd want someone in by the end of the week.

He’s ’reviewing applications’ considering my ‘thesis’ will take a full day to work through, would suggest it’ll take a while.

25/26 double FPL league and cup winner, globally dominant for 15 plus years, taken Bury Town to a champions league final on football manager, and currently have Shrewsbury Town with a trophy cabinet bursting at the seems. We’ve run out of Brasso. Won the lot.

None of that go’s unnoticed.

If I don’t get an interview Ashton isn’t doing his job.

I transitioned Bury Town from a double pivot to a three man midfield, with two box to box and a CDM…, I’m getting the tactics board ready to walk Ashton through how we dominated European football .., I say tactics board, it’s an adaptation of ‘connect 4’ .., hoping he won’t notice.

Ian Marshall will be my fitness coach, Chopra in charge of recreation and leisure, maybe Lee Bowyer for meditation and wellbeing.

Dare to dream.

I wonder if Martin Pert will be offered the job it would be a smooth changeover, just a thought 🤔.

How do you manage Bury Town on FM?

I once took Chorley from semi-professional National League North (predicted near the bottom) to the Premier League. Professional status, big stadium and training ground improvements. Took me about 10 seasons, I'm basically a legend up there. Biggest challenge with a club like that is attendances went up but very slowly, and PSR was horrible in L1 / L2.

I had far too much time on my hands back then!

He didn't. Like 99% of the content he posts it's made up!

Any suggestion when we are likely to hear about the new boss Phil?
